    Rpg maker 3 game Starlight

Story:100 years ago morsa the sky goddess saw all the stars losing their light.
So in a hurry against time she made the starlight crystals to keep their
light from fading. She didn't want people from stealing the crystals so
she put them on the 100th floor of razzen tower. With traps and demons
no would go up there. Now the light is fading again and she has trusted
lord razzen to give a crystal to the warrior of legend. Now the real
    race against time has begun.

This game includes a gender selection and a class selection.

So what do you guys think?

Welcome to the Pavilion! Good to have you as a member of our community and hope you enjoy it here.

So I'm a little confused. Who is Lord Razza, why does it matter that a crystal was given to a warrior of legend? How does this trigger a race against time? Why didn't the goddess just create more crystals, or (if applicable) give the crystals to the warrior herself?

I also have no idea what it would be like to play your game. Do you play as Razza, the warrior of legend, or someone else entirely? What are these characters like? What is the world like? What is the gameplay like--does it all take place in the 100-story tower, or is that just one dungeon? What kinds of cool things can I expect to do in your game? Is it story-heavy, battle-heavy, or have you done something completely new and different with the RPG Maker 3 engine?

It's hard to get excited about something when I don't have a good idea of what kind of game it is, you know?

As long as a detail is likely to be something that makes someone want to play your game, it's a detail worth including.

How Badly Do You Want It? (VX Ace) is now available for download! - no outside software necessary.

Ok i know i just started on a the story myself but morsa the sky goddess has lost power over time so she can only make one crystal. The tower however can only be accessed by the warrior of legend. King razza will only give the crystal to the person who can open the door. Morsa can't simply put the crystal in the tower because of heavy magic she put over the tower.

This game is alittle more battle heavy then story no one knows what the starlight power does until later in the game. I'm not sure if this is new but the player choose their gender and then their class. They also get to make the characters name.

If the Warrior of Legend is the only person who can access the tower then why does it need all those traps and demons to protect it?

Because morsa was afraid people would steal the crystals and abuse them. So she made it so secure even she couldn't open it herself. You play as her son or daughter which ever you choose.

Right. It's so secure that no one can get inside, so why would there need to be additional protection inside?

Okay this is my idea but it needs tweaking bad. Anyways the god of darkness agnoro has been planning on breaking the barrier when the crystals break. He saw through morsa's fool proof plan as it was killing her over time. So with the last of her life she gave the best starlight crystal to the king and told him about the warrior. Also in the game more goes into the story of the birth of the character.

You need to give more info. What are the gameplay features? Why will your game rock my socks?

Re: Rpg maker 3 game Starlight

I believe the floor limit for dungeons in RPGM3 is 20 up and 20 down. So unless you link multiple dungeons together, 100 floors is not gonna be possible.

Also, RPGM3 is pretty notorious for having a slow, boring battle setup. If the main thrust of your game is gonna focus on battling, see what you can do about tweaking the battle mechanic as much as RPGM3 allows (which is to say, not much). If you can create one interesting play mechanic to use with/alongside the battles, it would make a world of difference, and I'm talking about more than choosing name and gender of the character.

Also, if you have the player choose the character's name, keep in mind that any dialogue you put in the game will be unable to display that name. You'll continually have to refer to the character as "he" or "she."

Keep working at it, and keep us informed as to how it's going.

Re: Rpg maker 3 game Starlight

I'm still a little confused, but that's not even the big concern.

More importantly I'm left wanting to know about the game itself, rather than the background story. Obviously you don't want to give away the plot that unfolds long after the story starts (don't be afraid, however, to spill the beans about events in the first couple hours, if they're interesting), but tell us a little about the mood, the characters around you, and of course the gameplay.

Speaking of the gameplay, this sounds like something that would work well as an Azure Dreams kind of game (or Rune Factory if you haven't heard of Azure Dreams). Remember that RPG Maker 3 hampers you with a very vanilla Default Battle System, so, like Perversion said, you need to keep things interesting.

Many people have tried the class/name choice, and a few have done it successfully. It's a nice idea, although personally I would go the route of greater character customization opportunities (affords the same level of freedom, and a lot easier to implement).

Don't let the 20-floor dungeon restriction worry you, though. Dungeons are so easy to connect using events. Just call the five dungeons "tier 1" through "tier 5" or something and you're fine. More importantly, how are you going to make all 100 of those floors interesting?

...Or do you not play through the 100-floor dungeon at all, and it's just part of the background story? This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about when I say I'm confused and can't figure out what it would be like to play your game.

Overall, I think what you've told us sounds okay! It's more a matter of what you haven't told us that's the real problem.

they are this hard on EVERY SINGLE ******* STORY that was not made by someone who has been here FOREVER!
they were so hard on my story i almost dumped it (by the way its coming together pretty nicely) here they have the power to help make your game but not the power to break it
anyway i think you should concern yourself with the little bits and they want to know almost EVERYTHING about your story and how you plan to do it.

It's not that members on this board try to be mean or anything. They give good opinions and advice. If your plot doesn't make sense, they'll tell you. I actually like that about the forums. You can get good sound advice.

Unless you want us to shrug off whatever's being made and just sugar coat everything. In that case it's the greatest story I've ever heard!

                            That's not quite accurate.

If he or you or whoever had posted a technical question in the Workshop forums, it's a bit different than posting a game idea in RPGM General. Typically, if one posts a game idea in this forum, it's for one of a number of reasons. First, you probably want to publicize your game and let people know what you are working on with the intent of possibly submitting it to the site down the line.

With this, we'll always want to hear more than is typically posted, because a "Warrior of Legend ascends tower to save the world" scenario does not tell us anything more than a basic framework that pretty much every RPG uses. What makes your game special? What makes it unique? As Ryner alluded to, what would make me want to play your game? Ascending 100 floors of a dungeon using RPGM3's default battle system, especially if the battles are random encounters, actually scares me away from playing it. BUT...if there's a unique gameplay hook or storyline hook to draw my interest, I'd be much more willing to slog through the tedium of a 100 floor dungeon.

Do you have the chops to make it a roguelike (inasmuch as RPGM3 will allow)? That would capture my interest. Maybe with the classes, have a skill tree of sorts so the character is very customizable. That would capture my interest. Maybe make it similar to an Etrian Odyssey dungeon crawl, but possibly with random drops for upgrades that might require some farming. That would capture my interest. You are the Warrior of Legend, son or daughter of someone whose power is fading, and you need to slog through a 100 floor dungeon to save the world? Not so much.
