Now this is how an MMO should be:

None of that watching your player fight while you eat Doritos and surf the net with your other hand.

While neat, I absolutely hate the fact that not only is the healer hard to play, but can make or break a party, as the guy in the gametrailers video said.

Essentially turning the game into "LFM Need Priest" spam.

That, and the quest system makes this into an upgrade from WoW.

That said, I hope more games incorporate something Monster Hunter-esque like this game does.

I really dig the character design, and I think a more action packed combat system might be the thing I need to get into an MMO.

I'd be willing to try the beta, anyway.

Sadly, it's got the quest grinding and crap you see in all MMOs today. Looking at the videos. Despite the steller combat system you're going to end up spending 5 hours just to gain 1 level and all the good stuff is going to be end-game.

Champions Online has a really fast combat system as well, and leveling is fast. However the game doesn't have jack to do at end-game and the only alternatives is playing a new character through the same boring quests, over-all I can't believe I spent as much time with it as I did.

I don't mind grinding so much if it isn't mind numbing

This game looks way cool, I hope it comes to consoles as well.

I don't hold up much hope.

                        Re: TERA

TERA is going to have some technical problems with its battle system due to client/server lag when trying to hit mobs. A slow internet connection might make the game unplayable. :[

That said, I was really excited at first when I saw the battle system, but now to me the more information that's released on it it seems like a gimmick. From what I've read there are very few combat attacks/spells at this point in the game, and it seems every video I see is a class simply spamming their one or two attacks over and over again while running around. Doesn't look too fun due to the simplicity, but obviously being in alpha stage it has a lot of hope to get better.

I'm on the fence. I'm more interested in FF14 right now due to having no idea how these unique concepts will work, or how long it will be until the game is ready for the States.

Have fun falling asleep as you fight a boss.

I have heard they don't have many skills, but they also said that they are adding a lot more. As well, you can customize your spells/skills to have different effects (added stuns, larger AoE radius, etc). Also, this combat system reminds me of Monster Hunter, and in that game you had only like 5-6 attacks. I am really just hoping they have really interesting quests.

Heh, FFXI was good enough for me, I think I can deal with the pacing of FF14s battle system.

Never played Monster Hunter so I don't know how that works. I'll have to look it up though.
