Epic tennis match on right now

In case anyone cares, it's 59-59 on the final set of a tiebreaker in Wimbledon, which is apparently the longest match ever.

UPDATE: ha! It got too dark out so they'll resume tomorrow. This match started yesterday. I've never heard of a tennis match spanning 3 days.

    59-59? Holy moly.

Edit: For those of you who don't know tennis (and it does have a silly way of scoring), you usually need 6 to win a set... but you've gotta win by 2. So they've played about 106 more games than usually required. And that's not including the previous sets already played.

Absolutely ****ing insane. This is one they'll be telling their grandkids, assuming their hearts hold up after this marathon of a match.

"They have been playing for a total of exactly 10 hours -- 7 hours, 6 minutes in the fifth set alone, enough to break the full-match record of 6:33, set at the 2004 French Open."

Heh, towards the end either one of them could have been beaten by even a subpar tennis player, I imagine, if a fresh one were to play them. I wonder how far they traveled so far during this behemoth of a match? It doesn't require the constant forward motion of other sports like basketball or football, but a lot of ground had to be covered by the pair regardless when you add it all up.

Soccer does that just fine on its own, it doesn't need help.

Damn. The third day of the set still was longer than average. Insane.

I watched the match today. So epic. I thought it was going to go past 100-99 and then I was getting excited about seeing the scoreboard explode.

They broke it the day before, from what I read, when it hit 100 total games.
