It's 850 meters long. That's like a half a mile. This thing is so big, the beavers have built the equivalent of suburbs on the outskirts. And they did it in about 35 years.
God help us if they ever discover power tools.

I don't see the big problem with beavers building an enormous dam almost 1,000 yards long. This could never become a problem, right?

That's amazing!
Now, is this good or bad for the environment?

As bad as some of the **** we do? Likely not.
But beaver dams do impact their local environment since they make lakes. So a beaver dam in the wrong place could possibly harm an endangered species or something by flooding it out.
Here's some infomation from Wikipedia:
Beaver dams can be disruptive; the flooding can cause extensive property damage, ... The beaver's disruption is not limited to human geography; beavers can destroy nesting habitat for endangered species, and often destroy mature trees for which they have no use.

Dude, the beavers are part of the natural habitat. Have been for ten thousand years. Leave them be.
P.S. I know your being sarcastic cutter, i wasn't talking to you.
Also, that beaver dam is really cool.
