Should I move back in with my parents?

Yargh........I havent lived with them since 2004 and have been on my own ever since.

About halfway through last year I moved back into their town, and scored a sweet deal with an old lady that lives down the street from my parents. She rents the bottom of the house to me for $200 a month, and I take care of general lawn stuff and watch after her cat when she goes out on trips whichc shes been doing alot of after her husband died early last year.

Even though theres hardly anything to do in this town, its not far from a nice city to bum around in to waste time.

But anyway, the lady Im living with is looking to sell the place and move into a townhouse near where a friend of hers live sin town. So Im most likely going to be moving in the next few months. I could go rent a place in town here for around $500-$600 a month. More or less depending on if its an apartment or basement suite, etc. OR, I could move in with my parents down the street, and probably only pay them like $200 a month, and have to put up with my younger brother and parents all day, but also get basically free utilities.

Living with them again would kinda suck, but it would be a great way to save up money, and then move out to wherever I want to go next year. But I dunno.......Its been so nice having my own place.

So long as you don't plan on making your visit an extended one, I don't see the problem.

I plan on doing much the same if my plans turn out right. And they'll be happy to have an extra hand with my tremendous family, I'm sure.
    ...and that's why.

Even if it was extended, I don't see the problem. If they are willing to rent out a room for him for a cheaper price then go for it. It's not like he's mooching off of them forever.

Yeah, it all depends on the situation. If you're doing it to be fiscally responsible, etc, vs if you're just doing it because you're too lazy to take care of yourself.

I'm doing it cuz I'm stuck helping my mother out and it's got low overhead.

If I had the choice I'd leave.

          But that's me.~

I live with my parents because neither of us have died yet.

Seduce a lady and split rent on a single bedroom.

Or seduce your mom and double your savings.

I head back home during Christmas holidays for 2.5 weeks every year.

Those are the most stressful 2 weeks of my year.

Don't move in with your parents, rent something.

                  And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope

This is largely dependent on the relationship you have with your parents.

Yeah, my parents and I get along pretty well. Spending time with them is on occasion nice, never a bad thing. I think I'll live with them until they just die and then the house will be mine!

                        This.

If there's a lot of friction there, it might be worth setting down at the outset what expectations you & you parents have and, if you have a timeframe in mind, to nail that down too.

For my part, I'd have to be financially or physically crippled to move back in with my folks, but some people have understanding and supportive parents, I hear?

I don't think he gets along with them that well.

That was a comical and gross over exaggeration!

I love my family and all, but they can be extremely annoying to have to spend any long period of time with. If anything Id probably spend most of my time at home locked up in my room, just like I did when I used to live with them back in '04:/

So what? You're in your 20s you can't be expected to hang around them every second of the day.

Just do the dishes every once in a while or something :V
