I found a copy of the original RPG Maker and Fighter Maker games for the PS1 at a local buy/sell/trade. Should I get them?

Re: So I found some stuff...
The original RPG Maker is probably the best combination of ease of use/capability of doing stuff of the three console games.
And I believe the manual can be found at the Mag?Ryner's Games

Re: So I found some stuff...
The original RPG Maker is the best combination of flexibility and ease, but the core gameplay experience (for the player) behind it is not very powerful in comparison to 2 or 3. Still a very nifty Maker, though. I'd get it, but be aware that the DexDrive (required to share games) is hard to find.Originally posted by Ryner View PostThe original RPG Maker is probably the best combination of ease of use/capability of doing stuff of the three console games.

Also note the type of plug it has.
But yeah, RPGM1 is my favorite RPGM. There's no variables, but it can still be plenty flexible if you know how to work around its limits. Plus, there's still users creating games for it."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: So I found some stuff...
One of them (FM I think) was just under $10, and RM1 was around $17. I was tempted to get them just for the sake of having them.
They also had multiple copies of FFVII for $70 a piece. I was not tempted to get those in the least. I have fond memories of the game, but I'm not dropping that kind of cash on a game that aged as bad as, if not worse than, the original Diablo.
What about FFVI, or FF Anthology? I think it was Anthology... Are they worth like $10-20?stodi no na ka cenba

Re: So I found some stuff...
I've seen RPG Maker for sale used at Gamestop for like $9.99.
Anthology is worth 20 bucks.Last edited by Cutter De Blanc; 12-06-2009, 06:55 PM."Pardon me, I have nothing to say!" -George Carlin

If you have a PS3, stormy, you can download FFVII for 10$. Unless your a wacko that likes having the actual disk.Just call me judge, jury, and a cab.

Re: So I found some stuff...
FF7 definately is not worth $70. :P
Also, I myself wouldn't recommend FF Anthology. The load times are horrid and the sound quality is meh. I'd recommend finding the original version of FF6 (FF3) on SNES, and maybe also the GBA version of FF5.
But definately get RPGM1 and (if you don't own a PS3) a DexDrive. Even if you don't make a game on it, the huge collection of games for it are worth the price alone.Last edited by ErikaFuzzbottom; 12-06-2009, 09:05 PM."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Re: So I found some stuff...
I do not have a PS3, so I would have to hunt down a Dex Drive. I'm not sure if my computer has one of those plugs...
I think they had FFVI for the PS1 there, not sure. I have never seen a copy of RPGM1 before, so this is probably the best deal I can hope to get anytime soon. Its decided then, I'll get it tomorrow. If I'm feeling like it, I might get FM too.stodi no na ka cenba

Trust me, as far as the original RPG Maker is concerned, you don't need it's poorly-translated game manual. Seriously.Originally posted by simple man View Posti have tried both of them. but neither came with manual so i was confused.Last edited by Dallas Alvis II; 12-07-2009, 04:54 AM.------------
