Holy dog turds! (i reads the rules)
A decent looking website on the internet?!?
No way!!!
This piece is clean, that's for sure... my regards to the site designer.

Ok, I'm Chris - (I use the name D.D. for my part-time stripper gig)
I recently bought RPG Maker 3 - yeah the one everybody disses all the time

I hate the limited pc models and objects, and live battles would be so much better than turn-based, but as soon as I figured out modes and variables, I knew that there was almost no limit to the storyline and events i could create... and anyone who has played through the Legend of Zelda series, for example, knows that story and character dialogue can really make or break an otherwise decent game.

I'm currently at 32% of my first 'epic'... no test games for me, I got right down to business!

My story follows the misadventures of a young boy named Bailey, whose dad is the owner of a weapons shop, if you can believe that. :happy

As I get better at this, I would like to be able to help newcomers to the game, and also try to catch wind of possible upcoming versions of RPG Maker. Surely the designers are listening to public demand!

The future of game creation HAS to be awesome!

Welcome. If you indeed have a lot of programming experience/interest, I'd recommend you check out the PC versions: RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX. Despite being significantly more advanced than RPG Maker 3, a person who is knowledgeable in something like Ruby script could essentially do anything.

You're not an old-school programmer unless you've used BASIC. Or better yet, machine language.

Pssh, nobody has programmed in binary for decades. I'd call someone an old-school programmer if they had ever programmed in some form of Basic. I learned on GWBasic myself.

I did my first programming in BASIC on a cartridge-based Texas Instruments computer when I was probably 10 or 11.

Sadly, that was the only programming I'd done since until I picked up RPGM3 (which is not really programming anyway).

For some reason i still use Quickbasic for making simple stand alone apps...
(old school for life i guess, LoL)

Also, oddly, enough, i was working on creating an RPG Maker for Qbasic when I stumbled upon RPGM3. My engine is very similar but it uses only 16 colors for the palette... LOL!!!
