Such courage and guts and such a tiny creature. Godspeed Spacebat. May you join the ranks among the mightiest of warriors in Valhalla.

Poor guy, he was all jacked up before the shuttle had a chance to fry him.

This idiotic bird, on the other hand, had no excuse. How could you not notice the SPACE SHUTTLE taking off???

Yeah, this was on Yahoo's frontpage the day it happened.

        Man...

        Godspeed, little guy.

          Some birds are just dumb.

I was driving my work truck one time, not going very fast, and a raven simply glided down and smacked it's head up against my bumper. I looked back, and the little guy was just laying on the ground.

I was driving on the expressway one day and there was like trash all over the road in this one area, and of course the birds are at this **** like insanity. I'm cruising 80, and can't really stop, and like four birds hit my windshield in rapid succession. I drove the rest of the way to work with my mouth just wide open.

I hear that. A bird smashed its face into the grill of my dad's car while he was going 45 mph or so. It was sad but also kinda hilarious, since it was still in a mid-flight pose (wings out) after it died.

My most memorable "collision with nature" story is the cloud of bees incident. I felt bad for the bees, but there was no way to avoid them since they were swarming in the middle of the highway. It was like being hit by bee rain. Left a huge mess, too.

Bout half a year ago I was driving home from work and was going about 70. I saw a bird up ahead and decided "well I'll just gently swerve away from it so I don't have any chance of hitting it." about 15 feet away I see the bird starting to fly TOWARD ME.

there were feathers all over my left hand mirror when I got home.

I only hope my own death can be as crazy and awesome. Like flying on a rocket into the sun, or asking the military if you can sit underneath a nuke they test when it goes off. Heck, you might just gain some super powers and immortality from the whole ordeal!

After my funeral my casket will be shot into the sun, I've had this planned for years.

I imagine it would look like this, but Id be like 90 years old, and have some rocking tunes, or some *****in' classical music blaring out of the speaker. Then have a nuke airburst 200 feet over my head right as the best part of the song ends.

It would be the most gloriusly eccentric death ever, and I would enjoy every minute of it, and laugh as I would become incinerated within seconds.

Poor little bat. At least he had an epic death.
