Um, hi. I guess since this is the new member area, I should try to properly introduce myself.

Okay... I go by Angel Hammer13. This doesn't mean I'm anti-(insert religious preference here), it's actually because I once visited the Metal Gear website, which will let you type in your name and give you a code name based on your real one; I ended up being "hammer" something, so I tacked that on to the angel from my original net ID Acid Angel. I'm American, probably way too old to play all the games I do, and a big fan of customizing... Anything. I'm fairly intelligent with an absolute lack of common sense (most of the time).

I own both RPGM 3 and 2. I haven't really played with 3 that much, and I gotta say, compared to 2, I didn't really like it, though I didn't get too deep. I used to be fairly proficient with 2, but some time ago somebody decided they needed it more than me (i.e. it was stolen), and since I've replaced it, I haven't done a lot there, either, but I'm really hoping that all the notes I took from my original foray can get me back up to speed with relative quickness and I can earn my keep among the masters on this site; Guys, I bow in the presence of greatness.

Also, one final note (disclaimer?): I have a sense of humor best (or only) described as "unique"; In layman's terms, I find a lot of things funny, but that doesn't mean they really are. Try not to be too offended, please
(but, by all means, let me know if you are.)

You have a pretty good grip on the English language. That is very promising.

Welcome!

You are NOT welcome here. You type far too well to be on here, much less on the Internet. Be gone, and never return you heathen!

Kidding! Seriously, welcome to the Pav. :)

Woah, this is weird. Two new members who have a firm grasp of the English language in a row? That is crazy talk!

Welcome to the site Angel Hammer13, enjoy your time here, which will likely be the rest of your life...

Hey, welcome to the Pavilion! It's good to have you here :)

The name inexorably makes me think of Tales of Symphonia rather than MGS, with Colette being an angel who had a lot of "hammer" moves... which is perfectly fine, because I loved ToS and I loved Colette.

If you had a good grip on RM2, it's understandable not to be captivated by 3. 3's appeal was really that it's easier, much quicker, and it's beautiful. Really, people have made some pretty awesome stuff using both Makers. But if you love technical customization, 2 is the one for you.

As far as your sense of humor, I guess we'll find out in time, but as long as it doesn't look like this (http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showpost.php?p=428749&postcount=58) then you're probably okay here.

Well, is suppose if my literary prowess has to be reduced to random strings of nonsensical three-letter abbreviations punctuated by things like "LOL" and "OMG', I could probably have my kids smack me around with a sledgehammer for a while... They'd get a kick out of that.

On a serious note, however, Navane, I love your avatar-picture-thing; Absolutely beautiful. Your quote is lethally correct- My heart is won, with that picture alone. Oh, and if you're a guy, don't sweat it; I'm happily married and not here to make a love connection anyhow.

Honestly, though, I've been writing (fiction) since I learned to put words together into sentences (sorry, this isn't one of those communities where no one wants to actually know who they're talking to, is it?), and it saddens me greatly to see what's becoming of the language I love so intimately. Is it really so much trouble to speak or write without resorting to garbage like "Brangelina"?

As far as my sense of humor, I'm not entirely sure what I was supposed to find or not find funny about that. I did think it was actually a fair piece of poetry, in its way, but my perception of amusement leans more toward the sort of things that make people tilt their heads like confused dogs when you laugh. I mean, I will (and have) quite literally laugh(ed) at dirt if it moves the wrong way.

Angel Hammer, in order to avoid necro-ing old topics (meaning, bringing back topics that died 4+ months ago) in this forum, you are, you know, allowed to post in other forums besides this one. :p

If you've been posting in the RPGM2 forum, that's cool. And if you think your skin is thick enough, you may eventually want to dip your toe into the waters that are the Free Forum and the Video Game forum.

Welcome, and I will concur that it's nice to have two new members who have a firm grasp on the English language. Just try to stick around for a bit. For some reason, we sometimes get 2-3 newbies in rapid succession who understand how to string a good number of words together in a coherent manner, but lots of times, they don't stick around. Which is a shame, especially in light of the fact that simple man is still here. :|

Oh, and it's also nice that you appear to be a bit olde....ermmm....more mature than the average user here. You can keep trahcwolf, Obi and myself company while we fashion tools out of bones and sticks.

And I encourage you to stick around, if for nothing else than giving me the satisfaction in knowing that I'm not alone in posting walls of text. :p

Can we stop making half the posts in these new member topics be about how the new person shows adequate typing/English skills?

It's annoying.

No problem, Perv. I'll be happy to keep the old folks company, at least until y'all start getting personal about any of my grievous ignorances or my perceptions of certain things (which I sincerely doubt will happen; It seems I've found a relatively good group of people here).

Now, as a demonstration of my ignorance, where or what do I need to be looking at/for to keep from practicing necromancy (I presume you're referring to a couple of non-existent users I said hi to)? Computers are generally not my friend, plus most of my board experience comes from a site where topics can go on almost forever... Even if they only survive as flame wars.

And, for the record, I'm glad to have found a place where a command of the language is appreciated. Just because I can translate bastardized English doesn't mean I particularly want to.

Wait, I just learned something in that topic I zombified. Thanks, Ryner. Class is in session.

Oh, I figured out how to put a picture by my name. Cookie for me (man, I am so dumb...)
