    Max Drives, erm, where?

I think it's about time I got a max drive, especially since I started on an RPGM3 Project. However, no store around where I live seems to sell them, that's quite a pickle.

I've never done online transactions before so is there any sites people might recommend ordering from?

Ebay, or amazon.com's marketplace if they have any.

They were discontinued about three years ago.

I've already looked on a few sites including amazon and ebay, they didn't seem to have any. And were they really discontinued 3 years ago? Wow, how come? The PS2 is still strong and the company that makes them still exists.

Codejunkies seems to have some still though, I wonder if I should order it from there.

Did you try searching for Action Replay Max?

This is what I have. You just need a Flash Drive. New is almost double what I paid for it a year ago.

there have been reports of people getting the UK version of the PS2 software disc when ordering from there. and due to regional lockout, the UK version is useless to everyone in the US.

Oh so basically that has the software I need. I heard that any flash drive will work as long as you have the software hmm, and yes I do have a flash drive, a 512 stick at that. Stores around here might actually carry that one, seeing as it's still being produced and I have seen products like this one in the stores before.

Also I noticed that site was UK Valk but thanks for confirming my doubts were true.

I'd imagine they were discontinued because there's a VERY limited market for them.

Now that I think about it Ryner is right. Who buys these things besides us? And a few other websites?

                  Re: Max Drives, erm, where?

the max drive (and the MAX version of the action replay software) was released just a month or so before RPG Maker 2.

                  kinda convenient, don't you think?

you need the PS2 software disc that comes in the max drive package, but you don't need the flash drive they supply. any one will do.

                        Re: Max Drives, erm, where?

Yes. All you need is the software, and you do not need to pay for the overpriced 16 or 32 or 64 MB or whatever flash drive that comes in the bundle. Any flash drive will work as long as you have the software. And you can get a 1 gig now for under $10, usually. So unless you cannot find the software without the "bonus" Max Drive, I'd advise just getting the software by itself.
