I'm sorry but I can't help bragging about this. It's a long story but I had to detail the whole event. So I'm sorry if you get a tl:dr feeling but suck it up.
So I'm playing TF2 on an Arena map called Ravine. Arena is basically team deathmatch with one life per round, dying equals waiting for the next round. Furthermore, there's no way to heal unless a friendly Medic does it or an Engineer has built a Dispenser. So deaths happen pretty quick.
I'm playing Medic and I'm healing a pyro not far from our spawn. An enemy Soldier comes up and kills the Pyro, leaving me alone.
Now, anyone who plays TF2 knows how weak a medic is offensively. A Medic alone is basically a dead medic. Still, the class is quick enough that it can sometimes avoid enough fire to kill a weakened enemy. The enemy Soldier was on fire from the Pyro so he was relatively quick to finish off.
I was using the new medic weapon, which heals you slightly every time you damage an enemy (but has no chance of doing critical damage). That, plus the medic regeneration (1 point per second in combat, 3 out) left me good on health even though I took some splash damage from the Soldiers rocket. However, I noticed that my team only had 2 players left alive at this point, while the enemy had 4.
I need to get out of sight ASAP, so I make my way back to the little house next to our spawn room and I see a Spy just standing at our spawn: my last team member still alive was away from his keyboard.
So, I'm a poor medic, the weakest offensive class in the game, left alone against four enemies. I'm Aries with no Materia against Ruby AND Emerald Weapion. I'm Dan using only low kicks against Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and Gil.
I hide behind a box in the little house, hoping someone will come in and notice the AFK Spy and maybe I'll grab an ambush kill. An enemy Scout comes in right on cue, only he spots me and starts shooting. I must have caused some decent damage to him cause he backed off momentarily, or maybe he was alerting his team to my location. I was at about 100 health (Medic max health is 150) and run back into the spawn room and duck behind the Spy to use him as a human shield.
The Scout runs back in with his bat out and starts HITTING THE ABSENT SPY, so I'm shooting him with my weak little needle gun and by the time the Spy is dead I've killed the Scout.
Just as I'm killing the Scout a Pyro and Sniper both come into the room. The Pyro charges at me with his flamethrower going, I catch on fire but start circle straffing life mad hoping to avoid the lethal damage the flamethrower causes at point-blank range while also hoping the Sniper doesn't one-shot me.
My circle run does enough to keep the Pyro off me long enough to actually kill him. The only reason I survived long enough was because of the healing gun, but I'm at 40 health and taking damage by the second because of the fire.
The Sniper has backed off, so I know he's scoped and looking at the exit to the room, just waiting for me to peek my head off. I can't try waiting him out because I'm ON FIRE and I need to attack him to bring my health back up. To make matters even worse the last enemy has started to capture the point, which is the alternate way to win the round.
I run out and he misses me with the Sniper rifle, I'm bunny hopping like a mad man and shooting him while he pulls out his machine gun and shoots back.
The capture point is at 50%, I turn around and charge to it, and what class do I see standing there? A Heavy. The tank of the game with a gattling gun that could kill anyone in 3 seconds.
I can't get too close or I'm dead, so I back away and start bunning hopping again while shooting at the Heavy. He's firing back but I think I avoided just enough fire and was just far enough away to only take minor damage from the shots that hit me. The Sniper was either trying to shoot me at long range with his weak machine gun or was trying to snipe me, I don't know, but I wasn't taking lethal damage from either opponent. The 1 point per second regen and the healing gun are proving crucial at keeping me alive right now.
I land some shots on the Heavy but as they have a max health of 300 I can't expect too much. He actually takes cover behind the wall in the shack that is the capture point. The point is 3 seconds away from being capped so maybe he was hoping to end it that way. I have no choice but to charge in and stop the cap, but by being so close to the Heavy I'm a dead man in less than a micro second is he fires on me.
I charge into the room just in time to prevent a capture win and start bunning hopping like crazy in the futile hope that he'll miss me from 2 feet away. Only he's not shooting me, he doesn't even have his gun out, HE'S EATING THE SANDVICH!
The Sandvich is a new item the Heavy got in a recent update. It can be eaten during a round to heal the Heavy, but it takes 4 seconds to use and you cant move or attack during those four seconds. I fire at the Heavy, it's point blank range, no chance of missing but I need to kill him before he can finish eating the Sandvich or I'm a goner. He finishes eating, pulls out his gun, starts to fire, I've emptied my clip...
He dies.
The Sniper is on me from just outside the capture point, I take damage bringing me back down to 30 health. I'm backing away from him while firing. I take more damage and fire a few last shots before taking cover.
The Sniper dies.
The slow, arching needles that the Medics gun fires takes a second to reach a target. I had gotten behind cover before my last shot, the one finishing off the enemy, had even reached the Sniper.
And that was it, somehow I won the round. I was charged at by a Scout, got within melee range of a Pyro, was set on fire, sniped at, and stood toe-to-toe with the toughest class in the game, and somehow I pulled it out.
The reaction from the other players was great, I stunned the whole server. I asked if anyone was recording the game by any chance but no such luck, or I'd probably watch the replay 20 times.
Sorry for the long post, and sorry again for the blatant brag topic, but I couldn't help replaying the story since it was so amazing.
