It depends. I personally have no interest in Half Life 2, nor its expansions, and have no desire to play Team Fortress 2 or whatever. However, I AM jonesing to play Portal. And that is gonna be available in an expanded edition as a Live Arcade download in a few months here.


So, I'm guessing if you are interested in the single player Half Life stuff and Portal, get The Orange Box. If you're interested in online shooter-stuff, get CoD 4, and wait for the Portal download.



Unless you have no interest in Portal, in which case you are probably mentally unstable.

Orange Box, no question. Half Life 2 is a sprawling epic that isn't even finished yet, and has a story that will move you and take you on a journey you would never expect. Portal is clever, interesting gameplay that makes you both think and laugh. TF2 is on of the best multiplayer games around, and is constantly being updated.

COD has great multiplayer and single-player, but the single player is too short and the multiplayer tends to suffer from Halo 3 symptom.

Call of Duty 4, hands down.

Sure The Orange Box has Portal(awesome game...to short)
And Team fortress, but very few people play and the lag or terrible and makes it almost impossible to play game over 8 people.

And i didnt much care for half life, i get a bigger thrill from halo...and i hate halo.

Call of Duty 4 has much more replay value in multiplayer player because of the challenges and prestiges. and beating the Campaign on veteran makes you feel really accomplished. Lots more people play this game and it has lots of gametypes to choose from. Team Fortress only has like....3?

This is all my opinion suited to help you decide. Choose what game YOU would think is a better game.

Orange Box is much more enjoyable on PC, especially Team Fortress 2. I say go for COD4.

I played both about 2 weeks, but I beat Portal and if you don't play portal then you suck.

So maybe I'd lean toward Orange Box.
