    PC RPG Makers.

I don't really like doing this, but it has to be done. The RPG Maker Pavilion will start fully supporting RPG Maker XP on Friday, February 29th. We will start accepting resources, demos, and games for it. When VX is released, we will support that too.

Why the change? Enterbrain obviously has no intention of releasing another console RPG Maker any time soon, so we either branch out a bit, or the site dies.

Note that this is, and always will be a console RPG Maker focused site. We're not going to add anything from the PC RPG Makers to our logo. We're not going to try and compete with the countless PC RPG Maker sites out there. We're just adding a new option for our users here.

Now, about RPG Maker XP submissions:

For games and demos, the size limit is 15MB. If it's larger than that, it's likely not going on the site. There may be exceptions if you're a longtime member here, or are staff. Why would that factor in? Because I don't feel like hosting some random person's 40MB epic if he's never coming back here after submitting it, or hosting a crap 20MB pokemon/final fantasy crossover with a single repeating dashboard confessional MP3 as the soundtrack. Yes, for the first time ever, the pavilion will be implementing a quality control check on games submitted (not demos though). It doesnt have to be great. it doesnt have to be really good. it just has to be decent. if it's crap, it's not going up. even crap for the sake of comedy will not be allowed. no smitpok-influenced works, essentially.

If you submit a demo, and in 6 months there has not been an updated demo or full game submitted, it's getting deleted.

Why so picky? because of the file size. these games are a lot bigger than any console RPG Maker game, and while storage isnt a problem, bandwidth very well could be.

Game submissions will still be posted in the submissions forum, but the option to attach the file to your post will be absent. Instead, temporarily host the file on a service like yousendit.com, we'll grab it, we'll upload it here, and the rest will be handled as normal. One important thing to note, we will be checking every submission to see which version of the software it was made with. Games made with the pirated versions will be denied, and your account will immediately be banned. No warning will be given, no chance to explain yourself. I know how to check for the pirated software, and it's not up for debate if I find out you're using it.

As for resources, you can submit anything that YOU MADE that can be imported into the software, aside from music. If we find out you submitted something that you did not make, your account will be permanently banned. We don't tolerate theft here.

If there are any questions, please ask them here.

Ryner should be happy about this...

Really, I kinda am as well. I would rather submit a RPGMXP game here than any other website.

Of course I hope you are only going to accept submissions from actual pavilionites, otherwise you might get a flood from all over the place.

I must admit that the fact that another console maker is nowhere near happening is kind of frustrating, but I'm glad that hosting RPGMXP games on here will help keep things alive (and interesting).

unfortunately i have no interest in the non console makers so this news doesnt do anything for me. i think we will get an influx of people we wont want and i cant even imagine how many pirates we will get. it was a necessary step for the pavilion but one i dont really like.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

            Re: PC RPG Makers.

I can't say I see a big change happening. The Console RPG Makers seem to be more popular in the English-speaking world, and most of our members are no exception to that.

How Badly Do You Want It? (VX Ace) is now available for download! - no outside software necessary.

This is nice and all, but I doubt it'll bring a big change to the site.

What I mean is, don't expect a big influx of XP users or games.

I'm not expecting that at all. It'd be stupid and unrealistic to expect such a thing. as I said, I'm not out to compete with the PC RPG Maker sites. I just want to give people here another choice. We have users of XP here, we have people who want to get VX, and I think it'd be pretty bad if I never let those people share their games with the community.

                  Re: PC RPG Makers.

This decision inspires me to work on Kevin's Kwest over my spring break.

It'd be nice if my sixty zillion hours of work actually resulted in a released demo or something.

You should also do the "Demo Deletion" thing for the console versions...

And you should delete all those old demos that already have the full versions released so that they don't clutter up everything (And so you know what games are "Coming soon!").

I personally like the idea though because I was into the PC versions... And I always thought you should have supported them anyways...

                      Re: PC RPG Makers.

I don't believe we have any demos that also have full games on the site.

not getting rid of old demos for console RPG Maker games. Never.

Man, I rarely touched my copy of XP.

Though it'd be neat to download XP games to see what other people can do with it.

Oh... But if a demo just sits there FOREVER with no official release and no intention of having an official release, Why keep it (Unless it's VERY good)?
