Anyway to enable simple 3D?

Nothing dealing with models, just the simple 3D type graphics seen in some earlier SNES games like FF6 overworld graphics and such, where the character shows up as normal but the distance appears three dimensional. Is there anyway to get something like this through coding in RPG Maker XP?

Mode 7 effects? that's just sprite rotation and scaling. I would be shocked if you could, honestly.

Yeah, it looks amazing but I don't see how it can remain stable in any map with lots of events.

It seemed laggy, but it's hard to say whether that's within the game or was created by the recording/video editing software. There's a lot of terrible screen-capture videos on the net.

It's actually not very laggy at all, but it isn't compatible with BlizzAddOn "Map as Battleback."

Yup, some of the people out there making engines for RMXP are positively amazing. I've read of an add-on someone made that lets you make online multiplayer games with XP!

I prefer the really clean 2D look you get by default to the slightly rough Mode 7 I see on that site, but it sure doesn't make the fact that it can be done any less impressive!
