It's not fair! I just bought Bioshock for my PC, but I can't play it because I need the internet to start it up, which I don't have! I got bored and start and began to look at the guide for it, which I also bought. Let me tell you, it's not spoiler free! I found out a key part of the story!

Aggggghhhhh!!!!!!

....Ah well, it still looks like a nice game. I wanna play it SOOO much!

Probably a way to verify you have a legitimate copy.

I believe that's why. You only need the internet once to "activate" it by inputing a code that comes with it.

Mine.

However, I'm currently coming up with a strategy to do this. Nothing illegal, just a whole lotta desperation, obsession, and cleverness. *Sigh* The only reason I don't have internet is because A.) I'm strapped for cash, and B.) I live in the sticks, so a internet connection is hard to come by.

you can own a good computer but live in an area that doesnt have easy internet service or have your gaming computer not be an internet connected computer. for some people having permanent internet service really isnt practical, though i wonder how they are able to post here so frequently without service.

if i buy a game then thats all the verification i need to play it. people are going to steal the game anyway, i doubt even this verification system will stop anyone. in the end its just more hassle. is there a way to phone it in to the company or some other alternative to having it internet checked?

at least this isnt as bad as stream.

edit: this maybe a bit of a stretch but if you have a friend with a connection then you could bring your power box over there and hook it up to his basic parts and complete the verification that way.

Hopefully you get things sorted out soon. Bioshock is tons of fun.

Either that, or get a 360. I dunno if PC has the updates and new tonics yet, but on XBL the download is free.
