    No Country For Old... --wha??

I saw this movie last night and walked away very angry and confused.

Why did it get such good reviews? I just don't understand it.

    So... what did I miss?

Did you watch Fargo? Or Blood Simple? Same themes and messages in those movies. The world is full of terrible people that do pointlessly cruel things to each other.

So far, I thought that it was the best movie I have seen in a long while. Not relying on soundtracks or big flashy film stuff, but just on the characters.

        I really liked it.

That's the one thing I DID like about the movie. And I see John Mora's point... but man.

I CAN understand how people liked it, but it really wasn't my cup of tea.

You shouldn't have to read a book to like a movie.

(For the record I havn't seen this yet but loved Fargo and hope to check it out soon)

I went with my sister to see this a couple weeks ago. We both enjoyed it, but it's not light fare. The ending was abrupt. I can see how someone might be disappointed if they went in with certain preconceived notions about what the movie would be.

That's the thing. I went into the movie not knowing or expecting anything. Then it just ended.

No Country For Old Men. I understand it... but oh boy. The reactions of the people around me were just as priceless.

It was a fairly empty theatre when we went. There was mostly stunned silence and a few diehards sticking it out to the end of the credits to see if Tommy Lee Jones would run out of a collapsing building and yell "I'm too old for this ****."

So far, everyone I know who has seen it felt the same way as you, Toaster. They left the theater confused as to why the reviews were so good. And during the movie they were wondering when something interesting was going to happen. Not sure if I will watch the movie.

If this is anything like Fargo it will be awesome.
                            That movie was insane.
