    XP Questions

    1. Is there a way so that, when a random encounter happens, the field map music doesn't stop and keeps playing through the battle?

    2. Is there a day-night cycle in the game?

    3. I've tried importing a few music files, and they all have this pause at the beginning, even though the original tracks don't have pauses. Why is that, and how can I change it?

Actually, I added a couple questions.

I'm pretty sure there's a box you can check somewhere to prevent the music from changing during a battle.

Day-night systems would have to be user created, though it isn't that hard.

And I don't know about the pause.

A quick search revealed nothing, though I'm looking through the game scripts involving combat. If there's something in there about music, then I should be able to just delete that.

If I recall, setting the random battle music to the same as the field music will just keep the music playing when you encounter a battle.

I could be wrong though, I haven't used XP in a while because I have Vista now.

I think RPGM Xp uses midi music files as default. If your imported files are a different format, like .mpg or something, there may be a processing delay.

Have you tried setting battle BGM to none. I don't think it'll work, but if you don't set a BGM for a map the music from the last map always plays. So maybe if you don't set any BGM for battles the BGM for the map might play. I'll try to find this out for you, I'm gonna go ask some people that may know.

And as far as a pause before the music goes, it is probably just lag because it is a big file. I used some MP3 files once upon a time and they lagged pretty bad. You may want to use a anti-lag script in the game, I'm not saying that'll work, but it might.

There is no Day-Night feature in the game, but it is fairly easy to make your own using variables, switches, and tinting the screen. Check out this tutorial from Rpg Revolution for some help on Day-Night events.

It may look hard at first but you should be able to do it.

DAMMIT I just realized how old this topic is....
