RIDDLE!!!

OK!!! I was told this in 6th grade by an english sub.

There are 2 doors one to hell and one to heaven. 2 Talking birds are sitting in front of each door, One bird lies and one dosn't but you cant tell which one. (Now expecting most of you would like to go to heaven) How do you find out which door to go through, and assuming you cant guess, or ask which bird lies/tells the truth. How do you find out which door is right?

You ask one bird which door the other bird would choose, and pick the opposite door.

you cook the birds and have a nice final meal and use the wishbone to pray for luck in finding the right door. or you could ponder the idea for a while and discover that both doors are a metaphor of something greater and obtain your own nervana.

I have a different answer that also works.

Ask one of the birds, "If I were to hypothetically ask you if this door leads to heaven, would you say yes?"

If it says yes, go through that door. If it says no, go through the other one.

It's not really a riddle. Something that can be answered if you think logically. It's more solving problem.

Ugg. I don't get this.

You ask the truth telling bird "Which door would the other bird tell me to go through?" The truth telling bird says Door 1.

You ask the lying bird the same question, he says Door 2.

If you do the opposite of the truth telling bird you go into door 2. You do the opposite of the lying bird you go to door 1. There's still a 50% chance of going to Hell.

If this riddle flawed or am I missing something? I know there's one with a crossroads and a village of truth tellers and a village of liars, where you ask either of them to take you to their village (Both will take you to Truth village). But this is different and I don't get it.

The truth telling bird is a douche and figures the lying bird is going to hell so he'd say he's going through the hell door.

The lying bird would also say door 1, because he'd be lying about what the truth bird would say.
