honestly, i think it was far too early for him to get the prize. many others have waited a good while before they received their prize and he really only started this recently. a few years of wait would of been appropriate.

i dont recall anything he has done for the environment prior to his sudden campaign after the loss of the bush vs gore election. he just seamed to be the typical political knob spouting a whole lot of nonsense he has no plans to act on and making himself appear as if hes the next david suzuki. since the election he has changed his tune and put out some nice information to help the environment.

so i dont really know, if hes made something other then rhetoric in the past then it didnt get much coverage or i just never found it.

oh, and after some reading i found that nominees are kept secret for 50 years, thats why we never heard about them.

1. What in the blue hell would a Ryner Prize be?

2. Who would be worthy of receiving it, and why?

it would be a prize related to ryner of course, my imagination has stopped working this evening so i cant find something witty. perhaps it would be the anti prize to the nobel but not extreme like the darwin awards.

only ryner would be worthy to receive it; mora would grump about it, irc would find a technicality in why ryner shouldnt receive it, and magus would just neg rep sez for no apparent reason.

its of course infinitely better then a nobel prize, after all what good is 750k? after taxes, all the calls from random charity organizations, and the decision about what to do with it you're better off not getting a prize. the ryner prize would celebrate not getting the nobel prize money or any of the other benifits, it would just be like ryner.
