    Jena 6

Everytime I hear this, I think of some comic book superhero group, like Fantastic Four.

Wish it were true, Kire, but it isn't.

    Just another racially charged ****-fest.

Yeah, my favorite part was when Jesse Jackson said Obama wasn't coming down hard enough on the issue, and therefore was "acting white." Eh?

For those who don't know because of Kire's shoddy topic creation skills the Jena Six refers to six black students at Jena High School who stomped a white kid after months of racial tension after three nooses were hung from what was called "the white tree" after some black kids sat under it.

My personal two sense is that while it's fine and dandy to crusade for fair justice for the Jena Six lets not forget that they kicked the **** out of another kid. There have been mistakes by both sides and the whole thing's been handled improperly but that doesn't excuse a violent reaction.

What they need to do is forget Jesse Jackson and bring in Denzel.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

This wouldn't be an issue if we were all purple like Gwommy wishes we were.

Sentencing for Mycah Bell is today. Dude is facing at least 15 years. Not to mention that there's predicted to be over 60,000 protestors attending this event in support of Jena 6.

I don't think he died. It's hard to figure out. Nobody's reporting on the incidents just the resulting protests and controversy.

There's the typical attitude. "How dare you arrest a black person for commiting a crime! This is racist!"

Well, supposedly the issue isn't that the black kids were arrested but that some white students who were also fighting didn't get arrested also. But nobody's said anything specific about who did what or whether the 6 students in question did something more severe than the others.

A group of six people beat another person until he was unconscious and then some. When it happend at that moment nobody else was involved but the six people and the guy who got beaten up. Anything that happend before that particular incident should be considered frivolous to the case. Six people shouldn't be able beat up on another person and get away with it. This is totally a race thing. People are focusing on what happend between a bunch of highschoolers and making it a race issue. I don't know why people can't get past their race, they have to make everything into some kind of a self-righteous crusade.

The part that makes me really mad is all these estimated 60,000 people protesting these so-called heinous charges would be calling for the death penalty if the skin colors were reversed. How can they make this a racism issue and at the same time ignore the fact that they're protesting FOR the ones who committed the apparent hate crime?

It should also be noted that they're pinning attempted murder on these kids, and that a judge and jury agreed that it was assault with a deadly weapon, as a person's tennis shoes apparently count as deadly weapons. The victim had a concussion and a swollen eye. 15-22 years in prison for this ****.

Yeah, but they kept kicking the crap out of the guy though he was already unconscious, I don't really know what you would call that. I think the sentence they got was pretty harsh but I don't they should just be set free; like the protesters, Jesse Jackson, the ACLU and whomever else wants. I don't really know what you think should happen. I guess I'm content with it, even though I think it's harsh.

I think it should be treated as assault. And they should be punished.
