Clash of the Rappers- Victor: Kanye West

    http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/..._id=1003642725

    The Rundown:

    Kanye West's Graduation: 957,000

    50 Cent's Curtis: 691,000

I've listened to both albums, and I have to say, without a shadow of a doubt, West dominated in musical quality. Kanye, I applaud you.

I'm glad if only this means that 50 Cent won't be doing any more solo records.

So be on the look out for his new rap group and guest appearances on albums.

Curtis was lying, Mora. He still has one more record to do for Shady/Aftermath before he's done with his contract. He said his last album would be "Before I Self Destruct" (too late), and that he'd release it either later this year or early next year.

I admit it, I bought it.

Sort of disappointed he let Lil' Wayne in there. Song does fine until he starts talking. But it's OK when Kanye starts talking again.

Stronger and Can't Tell Me Nothin' are definitely the best tracks, though.

My faves are "The Good Life" and "Bittersweet Poetry," the latter of which is stuck in my head.

Meh. I'm not all that impressed with Stronger. I haven't heard anything else of it but so far he's failed to match what he did with Dropout. But even then the only song I really like or can remember is Jesus Walks. Gold Digger was ok, but it and Stronger really are just club hits that repeat the same words over and over again. Granted raps not my thing, I'm just not very impressed by Kanye West. Plus he's been acting like a baby every since the Mike Myers thing.

But then I'm still waiting for Mystikal to get out of prison.

I agree with you somewhat on your position of "College Dropout." That was a bonafide classic. Graduation, I must admit, took some time to grow on me, not only because of the short track listing, but also due to the fact that some of the tracks weren't sticking to me as quickly as it did on his debut album: "We Don't Care," "All Falls Down," "Get em High," etc.

After a few more listens, Graduation really grew on me.

Why do people even listen to listen to what the hell these guys say? At least Jayz is still retired. Nyoro'n

Late Registration was a great album in terms of what the singles DIDN'T offer. I love Roses and most of the other tracks. Sometimes I skip Gold Digger and Crack Music.

Oh, and Drunk and Hot Girls and Homecoming I like a lot off this latest offering.

No offense but I just can't value your opinion on rap. It gives me the same impression that I get from listening to Jeroak talk about video games.

But in fairness to Lage Registration I listened to it once in the car and didn't have anything jump out at me as being as awesome as Jesus Walks and I dismissed the entire thing.

Also is anyone reminded of that old fake Megaman trailer when watching the Stronger video? It'd be awesome if I didn't feel he was ripping that off.
