i started playing online poker because my friend assured me that since i was good at math i would win money. however, i suck at percentages and odds and probabilities, so i dont do as well as i would like (id like to shoot for 6 figures per year simply playing cash tables plus whatever i would win from tournaments for being baller, right now ill be lucky if i hit 4).
how about anyone else?

That's... uh, a rather large goal for a new player.
What stakes do you play? And where?

ive been playing $5nlhe on pokerstars, but ive almost built my bankroll enough to move up to the $10nlhe tables.
thats not actually my goal either. right now im just trying to develop into a better player and just keep building my bankroll so i can move up to higher stakes. as it is right now, i make a lot of money every day, but i leak so much money from poor play that i never really get a very big upswing. id also like to learn tournament poker better, because i dont know how to really play tournaments and whenever i try i get dominated. i do alright in some sitngos, but thats a combination of playing shortstacked pretty well and getting really really lucky.

I had a friend who figured he could win big money by playing Online poker.
Now he's trying to win big money by investing in Monavie.

Only play hands that are actually playable, and always assume people are never bluffing.

bluffing/trying to snap off bluffs arent a very good idea on the microstakes, but i think that if you have a read on people you can make really marginal plays and come out really far ahead even at the microstakes. if i a lot of hand history with players i feel that i can play a little less ABC with them depending on what they do.
whenever i try to move up in stakes (from 5NL to 10NL) i run really really bad. ive been crushing 5NL with about 22bb/100 and so i decided to take a shot at 10NL even though i was underrolled, and i ended up losing 6 or 7 buyins pretty quickly. i thought its probably that im not playing as well as i could be, but in reviewing my sessions on 10NL ive been putting my money in while im ahead, and making the right calls most of the time but i just run bad. besides that, at 10NL especially because im underrolled i tend to tilt 500x easier and that doesnt really help. a look at my pokerev chart revealed me running like 4 buyins below my SB, and then tilting away another few buyins.
my roll is crippled again (this is like the 4th time its happened). im not really sure if i can cope with the mental stress that poker puts me through, because this isnt a bad downswing at all and its gotten the best of me. i dont want to move back down in stakes, because i know that i can beat the game and i dont want to go back down to 5NL and grind out enough money to be properly rolled, and this bad bankroll management is going to make me bust, not to mention that i cant even play my usual amount of tables at 5NL anymore because i dont have the bankroll to 12table.

Bankroll management is just as important as playing well at the tables. If you're playing beyond your roll, it's very possible you'll end up hurting. You might not want to move down in stakes, but if a losing streak at your current level will cripple you, it's better to move down while you still have money to play with.
This kind of discipline is extremely important if you're going to be a successful player.
