    Role Play Forum

RPG Maker Magazine is now hosting a Role Play forum within Creativity+++.
    http://www.rpgmmag.com/forums/index.php?f=97

Currently there are two games starting up, and a third that was created long before the forum's opening. All three are very different, so you've got a bit of a variety off the bat. But if you don't like any of those, you are free to create and run a game of your own. We also allow the creation of RP-only accounts, for those who want to really get into the role-playing spirit. We don't have very many people taking part right now, so it'd be great if any of you want to join up.

We're learning how to properly run a role-paying forum as we go along, but it is fully operational. View the RP is Now Open and ATTENTION: Role-Playing Accounts topics for info for how things work.

I would like to start up a game on there when I get the chance. Might try it out this weekend.

I never know how role-playing works on forums. Chat-rooms maybe. I'll check it out though.

What exactly is that forum used for? I have a vague idea, but I'm not sure... What does "role-play" refer to in this case?

                  Re: Role Play Forum

Basically pretending you're someone else. Like in a medieval topic, you could play the role of a battlehardened soldier, while in another you could be a chef. Depending on what roles the game allows, anyway. And some games are played differently.

Kajakfaucon's game for example, you play the role of a student or teacher in a school. The twist is, the school has rumors that come true, and these rumors are spread using anonymous PM accounts. If someone sent a rumor to you saying that you have a habit of slapping people for no apparent reason, for example, you'd start acting it out.

Quinco Towers on the other hand, is like a text adventure, where everybody plays the same character, choosing what to do and the GM of the game (Kittykicker) telling you the result of your choice.

Kittykicker's new game, "Battle Magic", is more or less a player-vs-player game with some random encounters and treasures to find along the way. And maybe other stuff, but she's waiting for more players before revealing the game in full.

I am so glad this topic is allowed to be advertised on the rpg pavilion and my idea for a sub-forum (within the pavilion) for only visual arts got locked within 15 mintues. Dispite all the unused game forums etc. Thanks for is bias mods.

                      Re: Role Play Forum

They're two different things. You want a fundamentally redundant forum to be added to the pavilion these guys are just providing a link to another forum. If you want to make you're own forum about just posting art and make a topic about it you're more than welcome to do so. We made the same decision about Alto's request for a debate forum for pretty much the same reason.

The RPG Maker Magazine is allowed to advertise as they are our partner site.
Also, any site run by extablished pavilion members can be advertised as well.

Your topic was locked because the discussion was over. that happens a lot in the site info and suggestions forum, to keep people from bringing something up over and over after the staff has already made a ruling on it.

If by chance we did make a sub forum, what would go in it? I know what you want it FOR, but the content that would go in it is severely lacking in the imaginari right now aside from a few posters who continue to post their drawn art. Creation of a forum does not guarantee content for said forum.

I also like how you point out our "bias" for RPG Maker project forums, what with this being an RPG Maker site and all. You failed to notice all the deletion notices I posted in the un-used game forums though.

now quit hijacking this topic. I'm sure Draygone doesnt appreciate it.
