Most hours spent working...

What's the most amount of hours you've ever had to work straight? My record is 17 hours straight once. The reason I'm posting this now is that I got a close second last night, with 14 hours, from 8:30 pm until 10:30 am. I have to work at 8 in the morning tomorrow. It sucks going from working days to night back to days within the span of three days. I got home at about 11:30, and in order to get back on a normal sleep schedule again, I'm going to have to stay awake until nine or ten tonight, and then go to sleep, because I know if I try to take a nap, it'll turn into an 8 hour sleep, and I'll be awake all night again. So, what about you? Any horror stories involved in working overnights/working long hours?



Oh, and at about 5:30 am, I was very slightly hallucinating. I kept seeing things out of the corner of my eye that were not there.

I spent close to 20 hours straight writing a research paper the day before it was due. There's nothing sweeter than a last minute A.

I'm pretty sure I worked for about 15 hours straight on this horrible concept art for an architect. Thankfully, I got to work with a friend, so we could listen to music and eat junk. I'd usually go to my regular job at the pet store and then come home and work on the project, but we had to finish it in two weeks, and things got rough right before the deadline.

my store was short shifted so i volenteered to stay. i opened the store early in the morning and i closed it late at night. i never saw the sun once that day. i was unbelivably tired, but undoubtly rich.

Manual labor work = about 10 1/2 straight hours
School work = about 36 straight hours

I pulled a 14-hour shift at Braum's once. Wanted to kill myself after it was over.

I've done several 12-hour shifts at my current job. To make up enough time so that I wasn't using any vacation time at all, I worked 3 12-hour days in a row, followed by about 6 hours each day of preparing to go on vacation. I got maybe about 16 hours of sleep from Sunday night to Saturday night, when I finally had a chance to shut down and sleep for 14 hours. I did it again the next week, but without all the extra stuff at home after a 12-hour day. That kind of sleep deprivation is fun.

I've run some 12-16 hour shifts before where I was hundreds of dollars in the red afterwards. Or is that the black? The bad one. I was the bad one.

24 hour comic day 2006. I worked an 8 hour shift at work, then went to a movie shoot for a school project for about three hours, ducked out to go to comic day, 24 hours later went back to the movie shoot for about 4 more hours, then another 8 hour shift at work.

So... 47 hours without rest.

i haven't run myself out like that. no need to work so long. if i'm at a job and they ask me to stay for a couple more hours, i probably will, but any more than that is out of the question. why? i feel life is more than just work and no rest.

if you enjoy what you do though, then it really isnt work, is it?

Well, the newspaper had us working from about 11 in the morning at the office, then we went to videotape a festival at 6, and we finished editting at about 7 the next day. So that's, what, 20 hours? Course, there was lunch and dinner inbetween.

My all-nighters usually start at 10 or midnight, so as epic as they seem to me, I guess they're actually not a big deal.

Well, this sucks. I went from working during the day Sunday to over night Monday night (the 14 hour day) to day Wednesday back to overnight on Thursday night. Luckily, after that, I have the rest of Friday off, plus Saturday off. Then it's back to work during the day on Sunday at 6 am.
