Sounds like an elevated "code orange" situation to me.
And I'm pretty indifferent as to who wins the game, being that I'm a Vikings fan (by proximity). I guess it'd be nice to see someone different win, so I suppose I'll cheer for the Eagles.

I don't really know much about anything regarding American Football, but I do know how to tell if one number's bigger than another. And both teams are at 7.

24-21 Patriots. The Eagles are catching up with about a minute and a half left. This is the moneyshot.

Paul Ruled. I watched half time at work with my boss coz were big Beatles/Mccartney fans. I thought it was sweet that he used the same band that he used for the Back in the USA tour. They are golden gods. And Abe sings purty while drumming.
It's Over. Patriots win, 24-21. Checkmate.

Another wasted football season.
And it's great and all that the patriots won the super bowl 3 out of 4 seasons. But they only won each game by 3 points each. That's really not impressive by any means. Not to take anything away from them because a win is a win. But still...it's kinda weak for "Dynasty."
The Eagles ran out of steam! How do you run out of steam in the Super Bowl? I think they spent too much time jumping up and down before the game. They were all like yeah: "YEAH! WE'S GONNA SMASH YOU GUYS UP REAL GOOD" but by the fourth quarter they were wobbling around like a bunch of grandpas.
And HW's right: the Patriots are good, but they ain't THAT good. I'm still sick of them winning all of time.
The Patriots are that good. Think about it. You can look at how much their winning by and just call them lucky or you can say that no matter what, they find a way to win. In the end, the Patriots manage to do what is needed to win. Whether its a kick by Adam Vinitari, or a touchdown drive by Tom Brady, or its their defense stopping somebody, or them pinning the Eagles deep with 1:30 left in the game. They get it done.
Plus the attitude that they have is amazing. Look at Corey Dillon, look at all the numerous guys who sign for the league minimum just to play for them. Bill Belicheck has a system and a plan and he gets players to buy into his system and follow his plan or he gets rid of them.
Their at least as impressive as Dallas in the early 90's, but I don't know if I would put them up their with Green Bay or the Steelers just yet. Of course since I don't know who's going to start beating them so maybe if they go four in five years or six years? Six in ten years?

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people saying that the Patriots aren't that good. They don't dominate, they don't have enough big names, or whatever. I don't think either of those things lessen the greatness this team has come to achieve in the last few years.
IRC's got it. It's not luck. It's not like they eek their way through every game. They broke the consecutive-game winning streak and came out of the regular season with a 14-2 record. You don't win 29 of your last 31 games by being unimpressive. They've got a roster full of team-players who all step up when they need to. They don't back down when the pressure is on. They don't get tired in the fourth quarter when they've got to make big plays to win the game.
And, no, it's not like I'm comparing them to the Packers of the 60s' or the Steelers of the 70s'. They're not the greatest team in NFL history. But, in the salary-cap era, their consistency is setting a good standard.
Plus Tom Brady is dreamy.

And here's a nice article (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/peter_king/02/07/mmqp.sb/index.html) by Peter King about why the Patriots are that good.
One time my mom walked in on me with a McDonalds double cheeseburger. Boy, that was awkward.
...and you gotta love a QB that has Extreme Stubble. X-TREEEEEEEEEEM!!!!
I thought for a second you said a burger that has Extreme Stubble.

Their at least as impressive as Dallas in the early 90's
NO WAY. The Cowboys had a hall of famer QB (Aikmen), one of the greatest WRs of all time (Irvin) and arguably the greatest running back of all time (smith). They also had one of the most dominant and crushing offensive lines of all time. Throw in possible hall of fame full back Daryl Johnston and a DAMN good TE in Jay Novachek.
They also had the greatest Cornerback of all time, Deion Sanders and a bruising defense over all. Ken Norton Jr., Leon Lett to name a couple.
And the Cowboys of the early 90s DOMINATED great teams like the 49ers and Bills.
Also, who said that the Patriots win because of luck? You don't win 3 out of 4 super bowls because of luck. The only thing I'm saying is that they never win their titles convincingly. They don't dominate in the Super Bowl. All of their championships could have just as easily gone to the opponent. Have they become a salary-cap dynasty? Yes. Obviously. But they still might not even crack the Top 10 greatest teams of all time in my opinion.

All of their championships could have just as easily gone to the opponent.Well, the thing is the opponent didn't win. That's all that matters. They don't dominate entire games, they dominate the important plays. When it comes down to the wire, the whole team comes together and pulls out a win. Maybe Brady isn't quite Aikman*. They don't have an Emmit Smith in Dillon. Graham isn't Novacheck. But, for all the big names they don't have, they've got Super Bowl rings to make up for.
Say they win one or two more Super Bowls (more than the Cowboys), would you still not even consider them top 10 -- just because of the lack of marquee names?
* This is debatable. Maybe he isn't hall of fame material yet, but he's got plenty of football to play. If he pulls out more games like Super Bowl 38 (354 yards, 66.7 completion percentage, 19 passing first downs, and 32 completions), he'll be well on his way.

Brady will go to the hall of fame.
And I'm not talking about "Marquee" players. I'm talking "all time great" players. There's a big difference.
And when I compare teams I think about what would happen if the two teams played each other. That's all.
And I know that a win is a win. I already stated that in an earlier post. There's nothing anyone can do to take away their great acheivements of the past few years.
I'm just saying that the Patriots frikkin' annoy me because if a team is so great I want to see them stomp SOMEONE in the Super Bowl. At least ONCE. Please! Being able to grit games out by the skin of their teeth consistently is remarkable. But greatness should transcend the opponent. They've never done that.
They've won three super bowls by a combined total of 9 points.
Tom Brady is a three time Super Bowl winner, two time Super Bowl MVP, and he has never, NEVER, lost a game in the play-offs. Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. Period.
Corey Dillion is at the mid point in his career and he's doing pretty darn good. He's just under 10,000 yards rushing and he's concievably got 3-4 more years left. He could easily gain 1250-1500 yards a season for the next 3-4 years and break into the top ten in rushing all-time. If Jerome Bettis and Curtis Martin retire in the next year or so he could even get into the top 5.
My point is that it's not about prestige its about production. The Patriots won three times in four years and they deserve to be put up there with the Cowboys.
Also, if you follow football closely, or you played it, or you're anything more than someone who just follows the game, you know that the Patriots are a dominant team. Now they aren't going to go out and blowout an opponent, but that's mainly because of the coaching strategy. Bill Belichek doesn't try to run up the score he tries to win. So when the Patriots get a lead they'll play ball control offense and bust out with an eight minute drive in the fourth quarter.
But they have only lost how many games in the last two years? And look at who they beat to get to the Super Bowl this year. The number one offense? Three points. The number one defense? Blown out for 41. You don't score 41 points in the NFL, I don't care who it's against. Indy could go score 41 points on Dallas and I would be, damn Dallas let Indy get 41 points.

I was pretty cool in the 90s, oh, yeah...the team. Nevermind. :p I thought it was funny that to make up for the last superbowl they get a concervative 60s legacy like ol' Paul. Not that I don't like the Beetles, but the transition made me laugh. He did a pretty good halftime show, I think. ...LIVE AND LET DIE!!! :)
