    Caffiene! I'm so confused.

    Soooooo, I like coffee. I've been drinking more cuz it's pretty much no calories when I have it with Splenda...BUT, I keep reading conflicting reports. Some say caffiene is very bad for a excercise and low cal diet, and that it causes an insulin boost, which makes it HARDER to burn off fat. Others say it's very good for you, increases metabolism, and it breaks down fat. WHICH ONE IS IT?!?

    I guess I should consider the source...since the "bad" article is trying to sell a caffiene-less product. Still, what do you guys think, and what have you heard?

    Smoke cigarettes and drink coffee.

    Then go bulemic.

      I drink one can of soda every day. It's kept me awake when I don't want to go to sleep, but really ****s me up in the morning.

        I got kidney stones because I was drinking so much soda that the caffiene was causing calcium deposits to form in the kidneys.

        I don't drink caffiene now. Worst pain ever.

          Guys. Cola has 34mg of caffine in it, coffee has 135mg. You have to drink a lot of cola in one day to equal two cups of coffee.

            I can't start my day without having at least 2-3 cups of coffee. I've been using caffiene as a replacement for meals for the longest. Caffiene never wakes me up though...I've been consuming it for so long that it actually relaxes me and puts me to sleep.
            In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.

              I enjoy a good brew now and again but.....With my condition its best not to go out of the way to consume caffiene.

                I think it's pretty much accepted that caffeine is bad for you. One would think that cocaine would speed up your metabolism too but I wouldn't recommend it for losing weight.

                Of course I'm sure Kire will end up trying that too in his never ending gay quest to loose five pounds.

                  I got a kidney stone too from drinking soda. But that was because I was drinking a liter of Mountain Dew a day, probably.

                    Not intended as an insult, just your actions to me kire seem really backwards in terms of what you're trying to achieve.

                      With only excercise and not considering my diet, I got nowhere. Now, so far I've lost 13 lbs. and can now do 50 push-ups without stopping. How can what I've been doing be backwards?

                            Have you tried alternating between water and coffee and snacking constantly whilst getting a good walk in every day?

                            I managed to lose over 40 kilograms effortlessly that way. Only instead of coffee, I drank Diet Pepsi. Not for the lack of sugar, mind you, but beause I like the taste much better than those sugar'd drinks. I still chug it regularly.

                              Hey, NEWS FLASH. Everyone's bodies are different. My boss who sits next to me eats constantly, usually has 3 chili dogs for lunch, doesn't excercise, and is thin as a rail. WHAT WORKS FOR YOU MIGHT NOT WORK FOR ME.

                              I do 40 to 60 minutes of cardio 5 to 6 days a week and do 4 sets of 3 different excercises for each body part (chest, tris, shoulders, back, bis). It's been working so far, and my lifestyle has gotten to a comfortable pace. I also drink LOTS of water, and having 2 200 calorie snacks instead of having lunch isn't "constantly snacking." Don't tell me "I did blah de blah, tha should be fine cuz it worked for me!" That BS is annoying as hell.

                              Heaven forbid I ask you guys for advice. I appreciate those who responded, as I was just trying to educate myself to make the right decisions. I'm keeping my health progress to myself from now on, but I was just looking for an extra source of motivation. I'll still look for advice every once in a while because I appreciate your guys' input.
