how much is everyone getting back? I'm looking at about $800, before I pay. I dunno how much I'll have to pay.

Re: filing the taxes
This is a terrifying subject for me. Not the filing of the taxes themselves, but I know I'm going to end up owing. I havn't even started getting all my info together yet.Last edited by Ryner; 02-09-2007, 12:23 AM.Ryner's Games

Re: filing the taxes
They won't try to take it from you so long as they don't know you have it.
Most employers are required to send you a W2, and most of them take taxes out automatically. A shame that most of what you pay funds illegal wars, wealth redistribution schemes, and is given to behemoth corporations as welfare handouts. The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Re: filing the taxes
Not a clue yet--I've yet to get my W-2s back. Whatever I get back, I won't be able to enjoy; that money is owed before I even receive it. I'm so broke.
In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.

Re: filing the taxes
Hmmm... I made about $6k this summer and got taxed up the wazoo for it. I earned some scholarship money above and beyond what I needed, so I guess I need to play taxes on that... in the end, I'm probably gonna be netting approximately $0 back this year. Blah. At least it beats previous years where I've had to pay on tax day.Last edited by Wavelength; 02-09-2007, 02:03 AM.

Re: filing the taxes
Online gambling is 'illegal' in many states(and maybe nationally, but I'm not certain). If it's 'illegal' where Ryner is, then only Ryner needs to know how much he made. Re: filing the taxes
I guess I'll be the first one to get shunned on for making out with a profit this year...
Being married, and having 2 kids I can claim, in addition to bringing in under $18k this year I get: state:$457 and federal:$5,603
though most of that is going into bills I'm paying off so I dont have to worry about them until next year, I'll still have some left over to play with
Whats funny, is I've only paid a total of $700 in taxes last yearYou all need to hurry up and get married, the taxes you get back jumps substantially higher and they take less out
Example:
The year before I married Jackie I made almost $20k, out of that about $7k was taken out and I only saw $800 on my tax return.
The year after I married Jackie I had a kid and her, I only made $14k, out of that about $2k was taken out, and I saw $3k on my tax return.Last edited by JPS; 02-09-2007, 12:49 PM.
