    Dreams

I don't remember my dreams very often, but when I do I try and write them down. Here's one I had while back.

I was on a ship, and this old man was showing me how to tie a net. It CAN'T be that complicated in real life...he had all of these weird tools, and at one point he had to jump in just such a way...and when I started to laugh he said "boy...don't you know this is serious business?...you don't want 'the big thing' to come, do you?" And right on cue...I heard one of those unmistakable noises coming from over the side...one of those noises that said "I'm a sea monster". I went to look as everyone else ran amok...and saw that it was made of a bunch of clumps of moss or seaweed...in many different colors...brown, black, red, green, yellow...and suddenly I realised...it was made of thousands of plush toys! "Quick!" I said..."someone get a heater!" shortly thereafter. 2 guys brought out this HUGE space heater that looked like a 20's radio. Where they had gotten it, I had no idea. They plugged it in (god knows where), and turned it on. When the hot, dry air hit the thing, it curled up and began to smoke...and sank back into the water. Hooray...the beast is vanquished! The captain asked me how I knew to do that, and I explained that I had once left a plush toy in front of a heater to dry it out, and wound up setting the house on fire (this never really happened in real life). Everyone on the ship was happy, and patting me on the back...but then we heard a voice saying "excuse me...have you seen our ladder?"...we couldn't see where the voice was coming from, but soon someone saw a figure floating about 20 ft. above the deck...up in the rigging. Everyone just stood...stunned...until some soul uttered "No...we haven't seen any ladders...". The figure looks around, & sees the coiled serpent in the water...still steamimg...and says "you people misunderstand EVERYTHING..." And then flies over to it, and pulls one end straight up into the air...where it hung like a mossy column. Everyone stood there like...'HUH?' Then I woke up.

WTF...anyway...post your dreams here, or an old one that you still remember!

I have a friend who moved to Korea recently to work at his Tae Kwan Do master's new school. he teaches the kids English. anyway, he has to go to China to get his work visa renewed, and I dreamed the plane he was on crashed. that sucked.

Okay, I wrote this in the dark and while half asleep, after I wrote this I went right back to sleep.

      A dream.

My usual standby answer for this topic is the time I had a dream that a denim coat attacked me. It was quite weird.

I had a dream with Peter Lorre. He was assaulting the main character from this noir flick Kiss Me Deadly, yelling "Ohh yeahhh! Nobody throws a party like me!"

One of my most recent dreams involved me and a bunch of other people having a party at night by the lake (not sure which one). Steven Colbert (LOL) and I were enjoying our respective drinks. I remember we looked at eachother, enthusiastically said the same phrase at the exact same time, high fived, and then walked away.

All my other recent dreams have involved me being late to work for past jobs. I hate those dreams. >_<

I just got back from a party last night, and since it was so late I went right to bed, but I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking I was still at the party and that I was sleeping on the dance floor and everyone was looking at me.

I have that same dream every time I go to a party. It's a horrible dream.

                  Re: Dreams

                  Copy-pasted from my dream journal.

Evidently, [Magus], our friend Matt, Jack Bauer and I have been captured by terrorists and are being held in some complex. For some reason – we probably have Jack’s ingenuity to thank – the terrorists must transport us somewhere else. They are apparently very inept, for it takes only so much effort to break free of their grasp, and escape in a van.

In the van, Matt hands me some kind of automatic rifle, which I take reluctantly. Suddenly, we hit a bomb of some sort, and the van flips and crashes by the crest of a hill. We hop out and roll down the hill, which is much more steep and dangerous than expected. Jack, Tim and Matt grab hold of some tree, while I slip down to the road below.

There I find an old bicycle lodged into some dirt. I pull it out and it works perfectly well, and as I found out, is easily capable of going faster than a car. So I bike out of there, gunning down sentries as I exit and make my way to the open road. I have no idea where to go, and the terrorists probably know where I live. Regardless, I plan to quickly go home, and tell them that Tim is at Matt’s house, and that’s where I will go as well.
I hide the bike and gun in our neighbors’ yard, and make my way home. I use the computer to find the American corporation that is backing the terrorists rather easily, and leave just as Brendan and his friends arrive to play videogames.

When I go back to where I stashed my stuff, there is a family of indeterminate ethnicity playing catch and wearing ornate clothes. One of them is an old man, sitting on a pillow right where I evidently buried my bike and gun. I push him aside without much resistance, and dig and dig but find nothing. I look over the hill of dirt, and behind it a giant pile of crap that people have tried to bury in the yard, I guess. I find my bike, but cannot find my gun. Instead, I find a katana. I take it, and make my way to the corporate HQ.

Along the way, I stop to get a burrito. When it comes time to pay, I hand the cashier a ten dollar bill. She refuses to take it, seeing all the singles that I have. I acquiesce, and pay with the singles instead.
I bust into HQ on my bike, and someone goes, “YOU!”

I draw my sword, but find that its consistency is of rubber, and it flops around cartoonishly. With great effort, I sheathe it, and leap at the nearest suited person, cracking them in the skull with the scabbard. The blow is fatal, and I’m amazed at the strength of my blunt weapon. All those in the lobby charge at me, and I swing my sheathed sword this way and that, knocking them away. In a bid to find those in charge, I leap to the second story of the lobby, and make my way to the stairwell. I’m not sure why I don’t use the elevator. It could be that I hope to kill more people on the way up.

For some reason, the stairwell is huge, kind of like the apartment stage in Silent Hill 4, complete with ghostly attackers, who evidently are not immune to a swift blow to the face. The stairs are arranged in such a way that they end every few floors, forcing me to traverse each floor to access the stairwell on the opposite side. Each time I do this, there is an old, Wily-esque man who stands in the center of each room, laughing knowingly as I fight the agents of the corporation. His laugh fills me with doubt, and makes me wonder if my assault is futile, and for some reason, I decide not to include him in my otherwise indiscriminate slaughter.

                    Translation, please.

Last night I drempt that someone whipped out a tommy gun in the school gym. We all ran to the lobby, waiting for the police to grab him and march him slowly through the halls as if he were heading for death row. I think he was firing blanks. There's more to it, but I can't remember it all.

I also remember dreaming Gargoyles, on a volcanic island. Me, Ellisa, and Angela were there, as was Xanatos, who was leaving on his blimp. I hopped onto the zepplin and hung on underneath. After it lifted off, I started to worry that it might go so high that I'll get cold and have trouble breathing the thin air, but it was too late. Then the volcano started erupting, and I looked down, realizing that Goliath was supposed to come along and use boulders and stuff to help save the base. Well apparently I was Goliath now (meh, I prefer Brooklyn), so I shot down to save the day, losing my chance to get into Xanatos's headquarters.

These were both last night. The night before, I drempt I was robbed. I walked into the living room at dark, but there was enough light that I could see that my TV was gone, as well as the top half of my entertainment cabinet, oddly enough. I yelled. I then started going out my door, only to bump into the robber. I knocked him outside in a struggle (it was suddenly daytime), and yelled to my grandpa to call 911. I didn't get a good look at the guy, as my eyes were strainging to stay open.

Then I woke up, eyes still not opening too easily. I realized (for once in these shut-eye dreams) that I might be dreaming. So I got out of bend and started hanging on the corner of the wall, thinking that if I fully wake up and find myself still on the wall, then it isn't a dream.

Then I woke up. I was having trouble waking up completely. So I decided to put my arm behind my back, thinking that if I fully wake up and find my arm still behind my back, then it isn't a dream.

Then I woke up. This time for real. And then I went back to sleep. ...Come to think of it, maybe this really was last night's dream.

Most of my dreams nowadays involve me, a car, a cliff, and a locked-up steering wheel. For some reason when I fly off the cliff I always land on all four tires and keep driving either offroad or in one of the sewer ditches. But I'm sliding around and can't control the car.

So yeah, that's why I've developed a minor fear of driving. It always seems so real.

If you want to remember your dreams and experience them more vividly then take magnesium supplements. Trust me on this. Also we all dream, even if you don't think you don't, you just don't remember them. Writing down dreams as you first get up is a good idea as you lose the majority of your dreams after a few minutes

Tp expand on that it's been scientifically proven that a regular person has over 500,000 dreams per hour of sleep. They don't all happen individually, but rather occur overlapping each other.

It's also been hypothesised (and somwhat proven) that dreams aren't bound by time. A dream that seems long could happen in only a few seconds.
