While an english release is confirmed, there is no date given at this time.

Well, when this comes out in english, VX will be obsolete. So I don't think anyone should buy VX right now. If they're interested in VX at all, they should wait for this, unless they want to throw their money away.

I would be very surprised if this enhanced version of VX turned out better than XP though.

...I wonder if this is how people in Japan felt during the transitions from Tsukuru 1 to Tsurkuru 2 to Tsukuru 3. Like, seriously, are they even trying anymore?

It's awesome to see any kind of new RPG Maker slated for an English release. I agree that XP is fairly close to a perfect RPG Maker, but there are still a ton of assorted features that would be helpful to have included in the baseline package. If they hit enough of those in this release, it's an automatic buy for me.

I'll probably buy another copy of XP just because, but what "advantages" is VXAce gonna have over VX? Do we know yet?

I just want a console or handheld RPG maker, even if it is just a release of that enhanced DS RPGmaker game.

Some cool features, though the jury's out on whether it's enough to compensate for XP's advantages.

Overall, I'm intrigued... I'll definitely get the demo, at least, when it's released in English.

*Video (Ogg Theora format) can now be played through event commands.

That's one feature that I have been wanting for a very long time.

I would prefer an XP Ace, as Valk said, but this VX Ace is now suddenly appealing to me.

I didn't even notice that at first since it's almost a footnote at the bottom - but yes, nifty feature.

I really love that they give you the tools to change a lot of the battle formulas using the database instead of code.

The built-in chibi maker and ability to combine elements of battle backgrounds are really nice features for the artistically deficient.

They say "use multiple tilesets in your game" - does that mean that the tilesets are truly unlimited like in XP?

I own every single one of the Tsukuru series, iirc, except for VX - but I'm definitely going to buy this to play around with, when it's available.

Not that I have time to actually make a game with it...

Still, I'm really hoping VX Ace gives you a lot more flexibility than VX.
