    Journey

I've known about this game for a while now, but I'm really interested to see if they can pull it off again. Flower, as you all know, was tied with Demon's Souls for my 2009 GOTY, and is in my top three games of all time (along with Demon's Souls, natch).

Everything this company does seems to be tailor-made for a gamer of my age and background. And here's a short piece from Destructoid on what they are trying to accomplish with the game.

It's slated for 2011, and I'm guessing it'll be in February, as flOw was released Feb 2007, and Flower in Feb 2009.

Yeah, this is not directly related to Journey, but a Flower homage using LBP2 is pretty damn cool, nevertheless.

Oh, and here are some new screenshots of Journey. From the look, the atmosphere, and how its multiplayer is being described, it reminds me of a mashup between SotC, Demon's Souls, and the old SNES game Out of This World.

If I only play this, Child of Eden and Catherine this upcoming year, I think I could be completely satisfied with gaming in 2011.

      Preview and interview at 1up.

Yeah, I had to pimp my blog yet again in the comments. Just reading this interview, though, made me break out into a goofy grin at least twice. I CAN'T WAIT.

        First video/trailer up now.

I love the people in the comments complaining that the trailer doesn't tell them anything about the game aside from the visuals.

I seem to remember someone (Cutter) saying the same thing in the Inception topic. These types of people are missing the point, methinks.

Oh, and it looks gorgeous in motion. God, I can't wait.

I've been lookin' forward to this game since I saw the very first screenshot.

I'm sorry I haven't replied, Perv. It's just... you started it, and you were also the last reply, so I just kinda... y'know... don't click on it...

For my part, I'm interested in Journey, but it's too far off for me to be excited about. There have been so many good ideas that were squandered or poorly realized for me to get all fired up about a few screenshots and some game design philosophy thrown about in discussion.

I loved SotC and Demon's Souls, but I can tell you straight out, if someone had described either game to me two years ahead of their release date based on the meager info available, my reaction would be the same.

I was going to post this in the rant thread, but I didn't want to get in the way of all the FF rehashing.

We're most likely 2 months out at this point, not two years.

I loved both Flower and FlOw. Like FlOw's music, but wasn't a fan of the controls.

I adore Journey's art style; It contrasts everything in this generation and goes for minimalism.

                    And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't

Does look very nice, I must say. However, if it is only a PSN game then I won't be playing it. Tell me it isn't only on the PSN. Please.

Re: Journey (First trailer up now)

The reason thatgamecompany is able to take two years to make games like this and Flower is precisely because they ARE PSN games. No publisher is gonna wait 2 years for a developer to make a niche indie/art game that will have zero retail presence and will most likely have to sell for at least $30 to recoup the investment.

If you are not downloading $10-$15 PSN games, Jamos, you're really missing out on some of the best games this gen (Flower, Castle Crashers, Braid, PixelJunk series, etc).

I'm saying that because it is not possible for me to download jack or squat because I cannot go online. Therefor, I'm ****ed.

Bring your PS3 and a monitor to McDonald's, and use their WiFi to download some stuff.
