    Custom Graphic Workaround

    Hey everyone, I have a question about using anime maker sprites in the game. Here's the thing, I made a town, but I don't want to waste a full memory card slot for just one town. So I used the different sprites for face up/ face down, etc. Now when you walk into the sprite from different angles it changes the sprite before going into the town and it just plain looks sloppy. The only workaround I found is to make the event a check event and then have a takeover event move the graphic over the event.

    2 problems with this. When walking out of the town, seeing it move looks ridiculous. And when you walk out to the world map, it pauses a second which isn't so bad, but when I have more towns I'm afraid the pause will grow.

    Anyone have a solution?

    When you touch the town's event, start it off with telling it to face the direction it's supposed to. There'll be a split second where the town appears to be the wrong graphic, but it's better than... moving the town?

        different graphic for a town? cant you just use the turn screen black then after its fixed change the color back to normal? the pause is worth it, better then seeing it change.

          Wow that actually works lol. For some reason I thought in RPG Maker 1 when you use an intro event to turn the screen black there was a slight delay. (Maybe that happened in RPG Maker 2? I donno @_@ It's been a while since I've used RPG Maker xD)

            assumptions make an ass of you and me. always test something and see for yourself what happens. ive been pleasantly surprised many times by something i didnt believe possible but worked out when i tried it anyway.

            i use black start up screens to set any events that will overlap. some of the better event sequences are made using this technique.
