Only one entry per person for this contest. You can enter multiple pieces for fun if you want, and they will be posted along with your main entry when I post all the entries and the winners in a new topic.

Also, your entry seems to be created by two people. In order to be fair to everyone, this contest is for solo work only.

Well, if you want to know, that's not fair because not everyone has someone to collaborate with. Also, this contest is for solo pieces, not colabs. It's an open invitation/challenge to each individual to create something unique and new.

It doesn't matter if having help improves the art or not, the point is that you had someone help you. This is a contest to show off your own skills.

I'm not trying to discourage you. Quite the opposite, since the whole point of this contest is to get people to draw/work on something new, especially during the typically boring summer months.

You're a creative guy, so I know you can come up with something new on your own if you want to.

In the Silent Hill Garbage Art contest, gray, who does not draw, made an ms paint comic just for the occasion. Did he care? Nope. Did everyone love his contribution? Sure! It was really funny! (Sorry for making an example of you g, but you know we all liked your work. XD) Everyone did cheesy stuff and there were tons of goofy MS Paint comics and nobody cared because everybody was having a great time!

It's just a contest for fun. Who cares if you can draw or not? SHEEEESH.

That's really just how this contest goes. I made it with the idea that it would be for individual people to work on at their own pace. That's why there's such a lengthy deadline.

A lot of people are already intimidated by some of the regular artists here. So I think it's logical to guess that they would also be very intimidated by colabs between others, when they themselves might not be able to manage that for whatever reason.

I feel for the people that think so little of their own creativity/skills that they won't even enter a silly contest like this. So I always want to encourage those people too, by trying to make it as fair and fun for them as possible. That's also why one entry is randomly picked as a prize winner.

I hope that answers your questions, or at least gives you an idea of where I'm coming from. The rest of it really just boils down to what kind of contest this is. The answer is: a very simple one. I am sorry if you're disappointed.

I have no visual artistic talent whatsoever, and don't care about winning, but I'm on a big deconstructionist kick lately, so I think I'll enter something. Before I even clicked the topic, and just saw the link on the main page Pavilion Happenings thing Valk does, I had an idea of what I wanted to submit. Now I just need to place it in the proper framework and with the proper frame of reference.


EDIT: Does this representation in a visual format need to be related to a specific game or character in a game, or can it just reference gaming/being a gamer/etc?

Here's one: am I allowed to take images, say concept art for example, and re-create them in AutoCAD by hand, or would that not count as a legal entry? I'm in the middle of painstakingly re-creating a character doodle and have already invested a few hours and figured it would be wise to find out if it's even legal before I sink more hours into this.
