I currently have two game ideas rattling around in my head. I am yet to make a decision which I am going to do, but I think I know and just wanted some feedback on the ideas. These are two RPGs I pitched years ago that were probably my best ideas that I never actually got to finishing or doing much work on. Now with more maturity I can revise these ideas and make a good final project.
I will start with the idea that I really do quite like but will probably not be worked on until the following game idea is created, or given up on. I won't go into much detail about it, but I'd like to at least hear some minor opinions on this...
Imperialism
RPG Maker 3 or RPG Maker 2
The idea of this game is you start out on an island, that you've been set to travel to buy your mother country and you control what your settlement and people do each day. It would be a very large amount of variables resulting in various ways to play through the game, and various corresponding endings. It would require a lot of coding work which makes me think it should be an after project once I am more familiar with the program (Though I am fairly familiar now, from all the screwing around I've done with it). You pick where you build shelter, you pick what you do to the land, and how you get your resources. You pick how you treat the indigenous people/creatures of the land you have settled onto. Unlike most choice games it's going to be more complex then just bad and good. This game would require a lot of effort, but I have a small version of it on RPG Maker 3 that confirms it's possible, with some debugging.
Pavilion RPG
RPG Maker 3 (most widely owned maker and most player/user friendly)
The idea behind this game, is it's pretty much this forum incorporated into a game. Though lacking originality I could see myself having a lot of fun with this game. I'd like to set it up where you're a new member, and you explore the idea of the Pavilion at your own pace and how you want to.
This idea has a few problems though:
1) Valk needs to approve
2) Some people may take offence to how they are displayed
3) Some people may not want to be in the game
