These are two short games made in the same memory slot which I am currently planning.
Spore War is an animal crossing-like farming game in which the player must carefully cultivate ever increasing areas of various crops. Depending on what plant you...er...plant, you will receive different seeds and other items, stuff like watering cans and trowels. Through purposeful management, the player will be able to grow larger and more fruitful plants as time goes on. The "war" in the title alludes to the other part of the gameplay; depending on how you grow your fields, you will receive different pieces of equipment and items to be used in battle. There will probably be about three battles in the whole of the game, each at the end of a growing season. The three seasons will increase in duration and size, making the difficulty scale up as well. Upon beating the "final boss", the player will be given a beautiful and large area of plants to grow as they so choose for eternity, as a sort of endgame reward.
Ascent is quite a drastically different game. For every bit of Spore War that is laid back or comedic, Ascent is serious and frightening. You are a professional high-altitude climbing guide, leading a pair of inexperienced climbers up the frigid peaks of an alpine behemoth. You have very limited supplies, and if you squander them both your clients and the sherpa you have assisting you will surely die, as well as yourself. Each of your companions has strengths and weaknesses that you must learn and manage. The challenges facing you will range from the actual difficulty of climbing to settling disagreements with other climb teams on the mountain. It is very possible to fail this game; it is possible for your poor decisions to cause the deaths of not only your team, but other climbers as well.
These will both be fairly short games, depending on how carried away with the "depth" I get. I will work on these when We The Brave becomes a bit too much to bear
Expect a release within six months.
