Getting Towns Level on Field Maps?

Been trying to figure this out for a bit...when you put a town on a field map, by default, well, it's on a platform that makes it tower above your character. How do you level it out so that it's on the actual ground?
I'd heard you press some button to do it...but I couldn't find one that worked. There's a height degree dimension on that box with all the dimensions on it...is just funny it doesn't seem obvious how to level out the towns. Any solutions?

It also depends on how high the terrain is. Since the towns are level they need to be on relatively level ground otherwise part of the platform will still be sticking out (in the lower ground portion).
