Robotic/Android Party Members

I have searched this forum and I could not find anywhere that this has been answered.

One of my party members is an 'automaton guardian' of sorts. I want this party member to require special items to heal HP rather than health potions because obviously its not organic so stuff like herbs and potions shouldn't really work on it.

Is this possible? Is there any way to make it so health restore items don't work on this party member alone?

Not possible in RM3 unless you literally event the entire item system. RM2 or any legal PC Maker (XP, VX, Ace) can pull this off, though.
