Re: The "Temporary RM1 Resurgeance" Thread
I'm trying.

Re: The "Temporary RM1 Resurgeance" Thread
Im making a game for Rpgm1 called "Stega:Planet Quest." I've already made a decent start and am beyond my first town and castle. Anyways, I don't have the whole plot worked out, but there's a basic premise to it. You play as Marlin Grey, a retired stega mercenary (more on this later), who lives on a remote planet called Sett Liux (SET LYOO). Marlin lives in a small cottage in the woods outside a small town called Sudoni. He is awakened from his bed one morning by a low wail (it's actually the cat meowing sound effect slowed way down). The rest of it is him investigating this sound and finding some mysterious creature that he recognizes but the player does not. Marlin drops clues to his past throughout the game. Well I don't want to tell everyone the whole plot, but the title does make sense, you just find out about STEGA later. But I'm putting lots of minigames in it. I've created a cool arcade game called SUN RUN. I'm planning on making a fully functional fishing system. I have one already, but it relies on percentages instead of manual control of the line. That's about it.
Re: The "Temporary RM1 Resurgeance" Thread
Im thinking about making an RPGM1 game.
But not sure what to do.
I've got a couple ideas.
Desert Savior: A mysterious cowboy who arrives to a town who is in dire need of his help.
To Hell and Back: An epic journey in the vein of Dante's Inferno. Play as a religious man named Elias who dies and is sent to Hell for a reason unbeknownest to him.
The House of Lazarus: You play as the sorcerer Lazarus and a few people invade your home and you must defend it with traps and demons.
Re: The "Temporary RM1 Resurgeance" Thread
How about Monkey Brothers? I've already finished the sprites (as you can see). However, I'm having some difficulty with making cool dungeons and trying not to make this game too much like Zelda. I'm thinking of having a mix: Zelda, Mario 64, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot and (of course) some original elements of mine. Should I work on it some more do you think?

One thing I didn't like about DK64, you had to go over each area at least 5 times since so many stuff could only be found with a certain Kong. I don't mind having to do a little backtracking because I found a move that I needed before, but when you have to do it so many times, it gets real tedious. If certain areas or Jiggies/Gold Bannannas/Stars/whatever can only be found by a specific monkey, that's fine by me, but don't make it so EVERYTHING has to be found using each monkey.

Re: The "Temporary RM1 Resurgeance" Thread
I've had RM 1 for a long time, but I never did anything with it (other than making silly events out of boredom.
But now that I have a dexdrive, I decided to give it a serious shot, and I'm right now making a game called Rincar, or Unaverage Bill:
Bill is a man who would be an average Joe in a normal world. Or he would, if the average Joe wouldn't have one of many possible abilities, like throwing fireballs, teleporting, super vision/speed/strength, morphing, call down lighting, shoot beams of light, talking to animals, summon goblins, talking telephatically, or.. well, you get the idea. He is the only one who can't do any of that.
Until the day that he finds out he IS indeed special, and he will play an important role in saving the world.
He doesn't care too much of that tho, he just wants to prove to his neighbors how awesome he is now (And what better way of proving your awesomeness than saving the world?)
So, you play as Bill, and get to interact with every citizen of Porico Town, (which includes, a blind librarian, a telephatic emo baby, a 1337 talking king and a fire throwing wife) while trying to find out more about his powers and lending a helping hand to his neighbors.
I guess this sounds somewhat retarded, but it actually has a plot, and I'm trying to make it so that while you can't obviously use every citizen in your party, they can still play an important role on the story or puzzle solving. (Like throwing your wife's cat to hit a switch from afar, and then find a way to get your cat back, or calling that neighbor that has super strength to push big rocks away)
Oh, this is also the first game I'd be actually finishing. So basically I'm a newbie at this. So far I've completed the first "chapter" (It would be the first chapter if my game actually had chapters)
