Almost 600 years ago Merihim, the lord of the demonic world, made a contract with the three kings of the human realm. The contract, protected the humans from invasion for 600 years, but granted the demonic access to the human world. For the last 100 years, demons have been making there way into the human world through small rifts in the walls between the two worlds. These rifts are invisible to humans, as are the demons that enter. The human world is now filled with unseen monsters terrorizing humans, but there is a prophecy, that tells of a person that has the ability to see the unseen, The Darkseer. The Darkseer is said to have the power to not only see demons but the strength to kill them, and even enter their world.
In the game “Darkseer” you play as a young man who discovers he has powers. He tries to hide his gift, fearing it will be misunderstood. He soon finds himself mixed up in a war he doesn’t want to fight; little does he know he is the only one that can save a world that fears him.
The above was my first attempt for a synopsis, Lausen made a good point I have yet to give you any information on the game itself. So here it is, for the most part, the game will be driven by combat and character development. So let’s start with combat:
Most combat will be event based. You will be hunting for demons and the rifts they open. You will have to get information from villagers, rumors, victims of demon attacks, etc. Using the information gathered you will try to locate demons, and the rifts, Killing the demons and sealing there rifts. In addition any rift you seal will then become a new save point. You will also receive jobs from people to kill a troublesome demon, save a kidnapped loved one, find and close an annoying rift, etc. Finding some of the demons/rifts may be difficult and some may be obvious, the exp. will depend on the difficulty. There will still be random combat encounters (small animals, goblins, etc.), but these encounters will give vary little exp. and no gold.
Character Development:
In the game you play as the Darkseer (sorry I’m still working on his name), a man who can see the demonic. He finds that he is no normal man, with the help of a friend of his father’s he attempts to unravel the mystery of his power. As he searches for the answers he realizes, that he has the incredible responsibility. He also even finds some answers he didn’t expect or want to find. As he struggles with the truth he attempts to save a world he is not sure he belongs in. (ok I know that last part was vague, but I didn’t want to give anything away)
Other Features and Ideas:
Weapon creation system- From various sources, including demons, you will receive treasure items. These items well be title Material-“the name of the item” (example: Material- Hunk of Steel) There Will be a man or shop that will give you a new weapon, after you give him the right material and pay him a little money. (I think this idea will add an awesome side activity and resource)
Reputation System- I am hoping to have a system where the more good things you do the more public opinion of you will get better.
