162 Has Good and Bad News....Please Help Me.

Good news: I found a max drive!!!!! I was walking around in Best Buy when I just happened to stumble upon one! It was the only one left in the store. How lucky can you get?

Bad news: the memory isn't transfering to my flashdrive. It has enough storage space (2GB), is being recognized as a device, but it keeps saying that there is an "unknown error occuring during the copy/writing stage". Do I need to put the program on the USB drive, a specific part of the program, install that HDD thing offered on the RPG Maker screen, or what?

I'm really sorry for asking questions like this all the time. If I get this reesolved in the near future, I hope to release a Ke's Tales demo soon. (Perhaps tommorrow.)

    huh?
I really dont understand what you're talking about.

you don't need to put any program on the flash drive.

read this to learn some important "dos and don'ts" for the max drive software:

then detail exactly what you're doing, step by step, and I'll try to get this figured out with you.

      Okay, let's see.

-I put the disk into the PS2 and start the program (also puting in my memory card and flash drive).
      -I move to memory manager.
-I select the memory card as the primary device. I select the file I want and opt to copy it to the flashdrive.
-The program reads the file, but while it's "writing", it stops and says "Unknown Error Has Occured in the Copying process."

      That's all I can say.

how many times have you tried that?

don't copy stuff to the flash drive, by the way. use the "crush" option. it compresses the file.

Also, always back up your data before using the Max Drive, if you're able.

Like on another memory card? 'Cause I already did that.

Oh, and I tried to crush the file onto the flashdrive, but it only lets me do it between memory cards. (I'm using Datel.)

                This.

The problem seems to be with the transfer. I think I might have figured it out, though. I'll get back to you guys.

That's what I have and I've never had an error like that. Could it be the kind of memory card you're using? I don't know, hope you get it to work though.

Yeah, and apprently, I can't get other RPGM games from my flashdrive, either. (I know it's not my flashdrive that's the probablem.)

I hope it's not my PS2 that's giving me grief....What max drive programs do you guys have?

how do you know its not the flash drive?

the PS2 typically has trouble with anything over 256MB.

I use the standard max drive software. that came in a box labeled max drive, and came with a 16MB flash drive.
