    Spiritualized Indianapolis

    ladies and gentleman,

its been a while since i have touched the stars
or for that matter said a word to my loved ones.

    tonight is special.

i just got home from the spiritualized show
here in my hometown of indy and i must say
it was absolutely the highlight of my life.

the old man here may be getting sentimental.
maybe a bit disenchanted about the world and
even my own life. tonight was special because
it gave me just enough hope. hope for a lot
of things i have come to value and cherish.

love, passion, emotion, conviction, and even
a little pain. the heart knows best. its my
mind that has gotten in the way.

spiritualized are by far the greatest live act
i have ever witnessed. it comes highly recommended
to anyone. if they are coming thru your town
drop everything you are doing and go see this
    band.

    thats enough for now...

    love
    jj

    Re: Spiritualized Indianapolis

I've seen 'em twice, and I've seen E.A.R. twice, and Spectrum once (those last two KINDA count in a Spiritualized topic :3).

I WILL say that one of the two times I saw Spiritualized I would without a doubt have to put in my top five concert experiences of all time (I've been to probably between 250-300 or so, so being in the top five after having seen that many concerts says something).

I really do not remember much at all about the show (nor do I about most of the shows I've seen); I just remember coming out after it was over and immediately adding it to my top five. I think I saw them touring for Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, and then later for whatever that other album is with that sculpture of that girl's head or whatever (I've got the limited version with sculpted plastic case, so I'm not sure exactly what the regular version looks like). Missed them touring for Lazer Guided Melodies and Pure Phase.

They were supposed to play a show on the observation deck of the Sears Tower, and were all set with clearances and everything, but then found that all the strobes, etc, would interfere with air traffic at O'Hare, so were told that they could not use any of the lights they normally use. At that point, they (he-Jason Spaceman neé Pierce) decided not to play the show, as their light show is an integral part of the Spiritualized experience.

I would have to agree with that. The show I put in my top five...all I remember is I've never before and never since been to a show that so completely and utterly could be described as sensory overload. Good times.

That sounds like a hell of an experience. I'd like to see them, but I'm not sure if they'll visit this awful place.

So what's going on in your life, spaceman?

i would think austin would be a likely place for them, but who knows if they've ever even heard of it

in fact, they are playing austin, texas!
here is the remaining tour schedule.

this was my 3rd visit to the holy temple
that is spiritualized. a vast set ranging
across every album and of course the
usual encore treat with a spacemen 3 track.
the best song of the show was definitely
"let it flow" from the pure phase era.

i have already made plans to hit chicago
for the show in september at the metro.

life isnt always great, but this is fuel enough
            to keep the motor runnin.
