    Holy-Chaos: Characters

Well I figured I would post a little about some of my main characters. These are the first four you get out of a total of 10 main. Plus you get some people that join you for parts. You even get to play as the main bad guy for a scene or two. Mainly to build his character more.

Lausen: He is a young 18 year old of the Naharic Cadets. His father is the general of the Elite knights and because of that Lausen was put through advanced training. He fights with many different weapons. (Weapon Trick) His main is the sword and later changes to Katana. At the beginning he is a very optimistic person. He has complete confidence in his abilities and never shows fear just to keep his teammates from worrying about the situation. Things change later when he starts to doubt himself though. He becomes confused about what is going on, but still tries to hold it in. (You might not realize it as you play, but there is a scene were he lets go and brakes down.)

Cecelia: She too is an 18 year old in the Naharic Cadets. She was an orphan as a child until a family took her in. She grew up as a pretty good friend of Lausen’s, but might want to be more??? (I’ll let you ponder that) She generally is in a good mood and she hates it when people walk on others. She uses swords as her main weapon. (Again I used the weapon trick)

Troy: A 16 year old archer of the Naharic cadets. He is known for being able to shoot in rapid succession. He lets his mind wonder off a lot. He mainly just wishes to see what is outside the walls. That’s why he joined the cadets. He is very adventurous, but also soft spoken around people he doesn’t know despite his charismatic look.

Maria: She is a 17 year old member of the Naharic Cadets. She is very skilled at thievery. She is cunning and sneaky, but has a short temper. Her temper can get her into fights often, but luckily she can back her words up. She prefers knifes and short swords over anything else.

These are the four availible in the demo.

Im assuming youre trying to make it so the player becomes connected with the characters through the course of the game?

Nice background info, not too much and not too little

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!

      Troy! The legend lives on...

I like the characters, but then I've met them in person. So are you going to have characters come and go as written into the story, or are you going to have some kind of HQ to swap people out however you want? What you have planned sounds great, and I'm still having fun in the demo.

Yeah I want to make every character somewhat noticable in some way. I hate it in some games when they have meaninless characters. Especailly the end boss. Some games just through in some big thing and call it good. Like FF10 you fight that tick thing. (Don't know how to pronounce it or spell it so I'm not even going to try.) It had no meaning. That's why I want people to even get conected to the bad guys. Every side fights for a perfectly logical goal.

Obright, I know it seems I stole Troy from you, but I actually stole it from a different game I rented once. Anyway I hope you don't mind.

Most of the characters are going to be through the main story. I know for one situation I will let you switch between the five characters. I already have like a hideout place made so you'll have to do it there.

I think it's great how you get to play as the main enemy a couple times. That adds a nice touch of uniqueness. Cool Lausen.

              Thanks for the compliments.

I came up with the idea of playing as a bad guy so I could do the weapon trick and make it part of the story to tell the player to equip it, but I decided he looks fine with the Katana. Another reason I thought it would be nice is so you can see what kind of skills he has and be able to adapt your stratagy the next time you face him.

Also just to throw it one way I use to help make a character full of personality is to make the scene even if it's not great and then go back and look at whats happening from each of the characters perspective. I do it multipal times per event and soon or a later to comes out how I want.

I'll add some of the other characters in time.

Man, I ripped off Troy from Homer! Ha ha, it's ok, I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything at all. I just thought it was a cool coincidence. Even if you had taken the name from my game, I wouldn't mind. I've used the name Troy in SO many RPG's, where you can rename the main character, it's a tradition. Whenever I see the name used in a game (Suikoden V, for example), I freak.

Suikoden!!! Thats what it was. Couldn't think of it. He first appeared on the ship right? I'm pretty sure. I though he was pretty cool.

Does the Lausen in the game resemble the style and mood of your avatar or are they not connected?

Well I would say the main bad guy Zeroth resembes "Storm" more then Lausen. And Lausen is my last name, but that's what all my friends call me.

The reason I have storm as my avatar is because he seems to be one of the coolest FF character I've seen in some time.

Ha, Lausens a cool name, sounds like a game character that demands a lot of bada$$ness to get his point across

                          Re: Holy-Chaos: Characters

I'm not quit sure if your being sarcastic or not. Either way I'm over it. Well here are the rest of the playable good guys.

Phelix: He is 19 years of age. He too is a member of the cadets. Phelix is very cocky. He doesn’t take crap from anyone and if something is on his mind he’ll say it. He is one of the strongest cadets and is never shy to draw his sword. He doesn’t let people forget it. He and Lausen have a bit of a rivalry going. Phelix believes because Lausen’s father is the leader of the Elite knights he gets special treatment. Though he is tough on the outside you can see he isn’t so bad.

Meriph: 18 and a member of the cadets. (Last one) He is very quite. He only talks when he feels it’s necessary. He doesn’t let any one in so you almost never know what he’s thinking. He can be very cruel at time but that’s just his nature. What makes him different from all the other cadets is he uses magic much more frequently. When things come to close combat he opts for a staff over anything else.

Isaiah: He is a 20 year old outsider looking to make life better for all. He is a very strong willed man with great sword skills. Though he is a good fighter he would rather settle things peacefully. He is an idealist that fights for the innocent. He believes the outsiders shouldn’t go around blaming Nahara for they’re problems. He wants to create a united world. He is the leader of a small group of “Rebels” known as the Free Knights. Their main purpose is to delay the war to come.

Jaydn: She is a 17 year old outsider. In appearance she seems to be very innocent, but underneath the looks she has the will of a fighter. She generally wields small knifes, but can use other as well. She can be very nice, but at times she can come off the wrong way. She is internally fighting to understand her purpose. Though she wouldn’t admit it she feels helpless, and maybe she is.

Kasler: He is a 26 year old outsider. He is an allie of Isaiah and member of the Free Knights. He has gone through a tough life and because of that doesn’t trust people very easily. He is skeptical of just about everyone he doesn’t know. He can come across as rather rude to people who don’t know him. He is very loyal to his friends though and will stand by them through anything. His skills with a bow are second to none making him a great addition to the party.

Mason: He is 30 years of age and the older brother of Zeroth. (The main bad by) He is very intelligent and studies everything. He has been trying to decode the prophecy. He has a gentle nature and hates to fight, but when he has to draw his Katana he means business. Because the other party members are much younger they often look to him for answers. He generally is the one explaining things and pointing the party in the right direction.
