I got to play a different off-road game at a PS3 kiosk today that was fun once I found out they'd turned off the motion-sensing, so I turned it back on and steered by tilting the controller.
But all it did was make me more excited for the Wii.Comment

I would be okay with the smashmyps3.com thing if the guy didn't wear that rediculous outfit and the other guy could swing a ****ing hammer.The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Some took the smart path and issued a limited amount of tickets to people waiting in line for the system so they could go home and come back when the PS3 went on sale.
Others would apparently rather see gamers (and eBay entrepreneurs) make a mad dash for the opportunity to buy a system.
According to a police report, at a West Bend, Wisconsin Wal-Mart, around 50 customers were lined up Thursday morning hoping to snag a PS3. At 7 a.m., an assistant manager for the store said that the location only had 10 PS3s available and that they would go on sale at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
The assistant manager proceeded to line up 10 chairs outside the store, and then designated "another area" (what was basically a starting line) where the customers would stand. He then gave a signal for the patrons to run to the chairs and claim one to guarantee themselves the opportunity to buy a PS3.
Straight from the report, "As the customers ran to the chairs, a 19 year old male ran into a pole and struck his head injuring himself. The 19 year old was conveyed to an area hospital where he is being treated."
The seriousness of his injuries was not disclosed in the police report, although a statement from Wal-Mart said that "We have been in contact with the customer and are glad to report he is doing well." The statement said nothing of the race to the chairs.
Despite the store's apparent concern, a local news report said that the injured man is looking to sue Wal-Mart over the incident.
The same local news report outlined more chaos at the site. One of the Wal-Mart Olympians, Chris Friedrich, stated, "I got tripped up, and then I got pushed and shoved right into my chair, banged on my knee, ripped my pants. Somebody landed right on top of me and they had to actually pull that person off of me because I was halfway on the chair and I hit my head on the chair."
