The thing about Mario Cart 64 I liked the most was the multiplayer battles.

Setting up bases and trying to attack the other person was a lot of fun and lasted through many nights.

I wonder if they will have the control set up to have the controller work like a steering wheel?

It'll just use the regular Classic or Gamecube controller configuration. No added bonuses like Wiimote-capability or online are going to be added to VC games.

According to some obscure rumor column from Japan-based Game Lab, a newly enhanced Wiimote is in the works. The rumor, via Game Front, suggest Wiimote 2.0 will included "better grip" and rechargeable batteries out of the box, and that the revised controller will hit Japan sometime this summer. A bit early, no? And as always, this is simply internet hearsay. But rechargeable batteries are always welcome.

It has been con-foymed that the new Fire Emblem title for the Wii will be the first to utilize the Classic controller, in addition to the GC's and Wii remote.

I hope my copy of Wario Ware arrives today. In the meantime, Super Swing Golf and "The Clicking of Cuthbert & Other Golf Stories" by P. G. Wodehouse are taking up me time.

EDIT: Ah, yes, if I remember right, there are a few modes in Pokemon Battle Revolution which allow you to compete with rentals. In fact, a couple absolutely require the use of rentals. There are ten Colosseums in all, each one upgrading and/or changing upon completing the game once.

You need not a transfer pack, regardless. You can play with either the Wii remote and a registered team (You register your teams and trainer avatar on a Trainer Card before you can use them. You can register up to 32 teams) or with the DS, so the mug sitting next to you won't know what you're doing. Online, though, it makes no difference.

Also, the announcer's back, and the battles feel a lot more like action-packed TV broadcasts.

Mortal Kombat will also allow you to use the classic controller or the gamecube controller, if you don't want to use the remote.

The Wiimote is tough to use when you're playing classic games and such. I often use the GC controller to play Metal Slug Anthology.
