    Re: Final Fantasy Discussion Thread

    Silly question.

Traditional moogles or Ivalice moogles? Me, I say I like the Ivalice moogles better.

At first I would have said traditional, but I've come around to Ivalice moogles.

I'm not sure if I've said this before, but I was entirely not very fond of Final Fantasy VIII at all in the least.

            That's news to me.

              Re: Final Fantasy Discussion Thread

Eh, XII's still behind VI and IV because of the story issues I've stated above. Still great though, just not perfect.

And I have no qualms with the new moogles. I don't really notice a difference, it's just the transition from 2d to 3d for me. Of course Mog is alwasy going to be the top Moogle.

The moogles in FF7, 9, and 11 were 3D, and they still looked like the moogles in the 2D FFs (though the ones in 9 were more pink-furred). The ones in the Ivalice FFs look more rabbit-like. And they wear clothes.

I don't remember any Final Fantasy ads or promotions. Only ads I do remember from way back when were for new Mario games.
(And way to go Squaresoft, not showing any gameplay.)

Well back then they had a target audience of like 12.

At the movies last night there were two game ads. Lost Plantet and Untold Legends. Both showed no gameplay, just CGI stuff. It was lame.

                            I remember those ads.

Oh god, and the box where Mog has no legs.

I figured that the angle of the pic was high enough that the legs weren't visible under Mog's belly, actually. Does look wierd, though.

Speaking of, does anybody still have any of the old FF boxes and manuals? I have the FF3 box and manual, which is pretty lucky considering I got it used only two or three years ago.

                                Re: Final Fantasy Discussion Thread

You people. Citing the only reason for FF4 being nostalgia. Too bad it was the concept for every RPG since until virtually FFXII. I didn't get to the point where I had the maps and enemies memorized and beat it on level 33 in 9 hours just because I had fun with my childhood--It was a damn fine game.

                                1) FF12, agreed with BZ. Re-invented the RPG Genre, easily.
                                2) FF4
                                3) FF9, This one is MY nostalgia, because it is FF1-8.

                                4) tie:
                                FF7) Materia System
FF6) System, as well as a fine SNES Story
FF8) Despite the ****** gameplay, easily the best story from the PSX.

                                7) FF3
                                8) FF5
                                9) FF2 (On Origins, I had more fun with 2 than running around powerlevelling in 1.)
                                10) FF1
