I think this is the first time I've been in a SMRPG topic where the game isn't constantly praised. Has the game started to really show its age?
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
It used to be just about everyone here acted like they liked it. No wait, actually they were just comparing it with the later Mario RPGs. I still like it, though. Fondest gaming memories involve this game. Sometimes I wish I could just play it for the first time again.

The bosses were awesome, I thought the battle system was radical. And Geno and Bowser made the character roster worthwhile.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."
This is one of my favorite SNES games. If you don't demand a storyline (because SMRPG's storyline doesn't count as one) and dark environment for every RPG you'll play, it's just plain fun. I've played it through almost a dozen times.
Don't forget the little gem Square tossed in the game
MY FIRST SPOILER!
A Final Fantasy-esque boss with the FFIV boss theme playing in the background and classic FF victory music after the battle... which is pretty hard.
END MY FIRST SPOILER
I enjoyed the game greatly, honestly. I picked it up when it was originally released and had a lot of fun with it. I also replayed the game many times.
EDIT: Hey, I broke 300. *dances*
I wonder who I ripped that bit off from.... again.
Well, in that case, are the original Castlevania games anything more than "Whip" "Whip" "Walk" "Jump" "Jump" "Whip" "Whip" "Dagger" "Whip" "Walk" "Whip" "Whip" "Whip"?
All games to some degree have repitition. Just depends on whether you think the action being repeated is fun or not. Course, that's all up to personal preference.
Eventually, you'll have to watch what you use, otherwise you'll end up screwing your whole party in a flash. Furthermore, the newer attacks you'll be learning later on will require you to input commands and such.
