    World of Warcraft

I've been playing World of Warcraft for a while now, and so far I think it's pretty fun. Because I don't have a lot of time to invest in it, I usually try to play at least twice a week or so. I have only two characters on the Horde side: a Tauren Warrior and an Undead Warlock. (I'm not terribly good with the Warlock though.)

A friend of mine is playing the game as well, and he's the leader of a Guild that does Raids once a week to get epic items. I would join his Guild, but my level is a little low. Only Level 60s are allowed to join anyway :P

It depends solely on how you play WoW. Many people regard it as too easy. Others claim there's not a lot of challenge to be had because anyone can solo their way to max level. There are those who complain about a rowdy community and server lag that keeps interfering with the game from time to time. On the flip side, people love how new content is consistently being added--like new dungeons, items, monsters and quests. Even though WoW has been out for a while, it's still being fine-tuned for the masses. The last I heard, people complained about the Hunter class being too powerful for its own good.

I look forward to the Burning Crusade. The Blood Elves and the Draenei look very interesting to try.

Is there anyone who's played WoW, plays WoW still, or used to play it? What do you all think of the game so far?
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

I want to get this but my parents won't pay and I don't have a job. I'm tossing the idea of getting a job around in my head though.

I wouldn't be opposed if somebody wanted to pay my monthly fees just because I'm so awesome...

I play Final Fantasy XI. It's a lot harder and requires much more time than WoW. IMO, I like FFXI more than WoW, because you really need to work for everything.

For instance, every job in FFXI has special gear (normally called "Relic" gear), that is incredibly hard to get and takes a great deal of work and effort to procure. In order to obtain it, you have to fight in battles called "dynamis". Long story short, it's really hard. But when you have all your relic gear and a fully upgraded relic weapon, people really respect you, and you feel good about yourself.

However, if you're more of a casual player, I'd recomend WoW, it doesn't demand a lot of time out of you and you can accomplish all there is to do in a little over a year if your deligent. On the other hand, you could play FFXI for 8 years and still not have everything.

lol i like how you didnt mention any of the endgame raid dungeons where you get your epic equipment... or the quests to get legendary items.

FFXI isnt a game, its a job. i played it for a long long time and it was way more frustrating than it ever was fun. and i had a couple jobs leveled high.

FFXI is exactly that... work. And it forces you into groups.

WoW, well you can have fun with. Sure it's easy, but it's fun as well.

Oh and Doomhammer? Sorry to the pavvies there, but PvE is lame. PvP servers are where it is at.

And Hunters? They're powerful yes, but they're the only class that has a dead zone.

I'd rather not worry about being "ganked" while I'm on some important quest.

I never meant to degrade WoW, I'm just saying that I like FFXI better.

However I can't argue that FFXI can be the most boring, long, and uneventful games ever created. You can literally spend hours searching for a party and more hours trying to get decent EXP.

Like I said before, WoW is a very good choice for casual MMO players, FFXI is not.

I play a 60 hunter on Doomhammer. I have 3 pieces of the Beaststalker set and looking for the rest. I play once or twice a week at night when I get off work If I feel like it.

                          Re: World of Warcraft

I quit WoW in May and I haven't looked back.

It was fun, and I enjoyed being a druid and a priestess, but by the time I got to 60 all there was to do was raid, raid, raid. Go to dungeons, raid, get equipment so that you can go to bigger dungeons and get more equipment that's supposedly better, while listening to 39 other people squabbling and whining about the phat lewtz they didn't get for reason A, B, C, or D.

Getting there was awesome, but once you're at the top there isn't much to it.

However, I will say that I really enjoyed playing with all the pavvies on Doomhammer, and the random dancing and crazy things we did were always great.

I do have good memories of FFXI, but for the most part it really was a chore. I may as well have taken out a bank loan to pay for new gear, and finding a party and levelling was just frustrating. I will admit that at least in FFXI, you were guaranteed your class armor. In WoW, you have to do the same dungeons over and over and over and pray to God that your armor pieces are going to drop. It took me six months to get Wildheart Vest in WoW, for example.

All in all, though, the most fun thing in either game was playing with friends. I had the most laughs with you guys! *runs by and /slaps everything*

                            Guild Wars... Yeah....

Anyhow I play WoW for a week, then get board of the huge amount of monotonous quests.

                            Just my opinion.

FFXI and WoW have their differences--it all depends on the level of enjoyment that people get when they play the games.

I used to play FFXI back in the day, and a lot of my old friends are still playing it. Some of them have expressed interest in migrating to WoW, but they do not want to leave FFXI entirely. I think it's because they invested so much of their hard work into developing their FFXI character that it'd be a travesty to just delete it as if it didn't mean anything at all. And I understand that point of view. I wouldn't want them to erase their hard work.

Comparing both games is always going to be debatable. But neither game is better than the other.
