    SIXAXIS

It's official the PS3 controller is called SIXAXIS. Sadly, this means no more PooS jokes. It's a good name. Makes sense and it's a palindrome.

    SIXAXIS controller 5,000 yen ~ $42.34

    PS1/2 memory card adapter 1,500 yen ~ $12.70

    BD remote control 3,600 yen ~ $30.48

Japan's Impress Watch provided some impressions of browser use. Using the Six Axis controller (that's the PS3 controller's official name, in case you just woke up), you move a cursor around with the left analogue stick and use the right stick to scroll the screen up and down. Circle is for making selections, with L1 and R1 serving as back and forward buttons. Links can be open in a second window, which lines up next to the current window. The windows can be toggled between using L2 and R2. The site reports that, thanks to the PS3's compatibility with high resolution monitors, webpages are easy to look at when browsing on the PS3.

Um. It looks exactly like the PS2 controller.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

No kidding. You could easily mistake it for a PS2 controller....only it's wireless and has that new button in the front.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

Their back to using circle as the selection button! First is was X, then circle, then X, then circle. Can't they make up their mind?

I'm a little behind when it comes to the controller.

Will the SIXAXIS feature rumble support or no?

                    Re: SIXAXIS

No rumble. Sony finally stopped claiming that it was a technical issue with the tilt sensor and the rumble not working together. Now their story is that it would've cost too much to have both. The truth is they lost that lawsuit with Immersion and don't want to pay to keep the rumble feature. My only issue with the tilt sensor is that it's only useful for a few types of games, mostly flying/driving type games.

But yeah it all looks like PS2 accessories. But that's not really a big deal. I wonder if stores will let people rent the memory card adaptor considering you should only need it once.

A lithium ion battery is built in. You can connect it to the PS3 with a USB cable to recharge (30 minutes for full charge) and you can play while it's charging. Wii is the only one that doesn't come with batteries, it uses AA I think. 360 controllers come with one battery pack I believe.

That is the dumbest thing. No rumble.

I wonder if you can turn the PS3 on with the controller like with the 360?

The dumbest thing is having rumble in the first place.

Whoa, my hands are shaking it's like I'm really in the game.

I've seen it used in a few games as an actual gameplay mechanic but really I'm not torn up about it.

I think the problem with a lack of rumble is, if you've used it during the past two generations (and with the 360 and Wii), you'll notice it's missing with the Poos. It seems like it's become as much a part of console gaming as 3D graphics.

Right now I'm hoping that it's only the prototype that used AAs.

I hardly even notice rumble. It's silly.
