Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
Re: Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
Yeah I was expecting Mother and Earthbound to be there... but Mother 3?
See the thing is, Nintendo released VC prises for NES, SNES, and N64 games. Not and handheld ones. So I'm skeptical. Extreamly skeptical. I'm a skeptic.
Re: Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
Nintendo confirmed that the MSX computer would be supported the other day, and there's no record of an MSX-on-a-chip in the Wii. they didnt announce prices for that, genesis games, or TG-16 games. of course, master system games worked on genesis (just needed a cartridge port adapter) so we can see those as well.
Re: Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
I've actually heard the rumors of all the Mothers coming to Virtual Console some months ago. Very interesting considering Mother 1 had never come to the states. Though I have to wonder if it just recieved a translation but was never produced.
I also had heard about a version of Metroid 2 in color. Like, before Virtual Console. There were also some other monochrome-to-color projects planned or being in the works along with it, but only a few got releases. I'm kinda hoping that "Metroid 2 Color" would mean other pre-GBA games got a release on the Virtual Console. Metroid 2 in particular, I didn't like that one because the levels looked way too similar to each other, especially because of the monocrhome-ness of it all.
And I heard about enhancements for older games, but complete remakes a la Mario All-Stars? That's news to me. I hope the online for them is true, though. I can think of a few older games that I'd like to play online. Wave Race 64, for example. (Oh, and they could add 4-player into that.)
Arcade games? Sounds interesting. I hope the Mario Kart arcade game is included.

Re: Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
My N64 library is 14 cartridges long. With a few exceptions, the games are very enjoyable; not to mention some good stuff that I unfortunately lost to the trade-in world. I now try to avoid trade-ins where possible.
Re: Earthbound coming to the virtual console? wait... the entire series?!?
I'd agree to that. The N64 didn't interest me overall but it did have some gems. That's what I like about the Virtual Console. If those gems get put up I can snag them for $10 and not bother with any of the stuff I don't want. And if none I want are offered, it's no harm no foul.
