I was just commenting on how if Nintendo ventures out of games, it'll be fine.

extra features of one is not driving up the cost past 200$

No one would care about the extra things on the PS3 if those extra things werent driving up the price.

The photo viewer and news channels didnt drive the Wii's price up.

I never complained about the PS3s price, just pointed out that Nintendo's extra features didn't drive up the cost, as others also pointed out.

I don't get why people have such hate towards a product that's providing them with a variety of things for a steal.

Because some of us don't want the extra stuff. It doesn't matter that it's offered at a great value if you don't want it in the first place. Nintend's added extra functions to the Wii but not extra tech so it didn't affect the cost. I seriously doubt I'll have any use for news or weather on my Wii but if it's not costing me anything I'm indifferent to it. Sony's justification for the price is "but you get so much stuff. BLU-RAY!!" which is great for those who can take advantage of it. And those people are rightfully pleased but for the rest of us it just means paying for extras we don't want or can't use.

But I myself got over the PS3's price when I considered it compared to a 360 with the add-ons that would make it equal. Currently, my unhappiness with Sony is due to their inability to meet their own "promises." My decision for 360 over PS3 is based on what games I want. That decision is wavering a bit though.

I'd like to get it because of the fact that Genesis, Super NES, N64 and Turbo Grafx 16 games can be downloaded (for a fee, of course) and enjoyed to your heart's content. I look forward to revisiting Bonk's Adventure, Ninja Spirit and Keith Courage.......on the Wii.

the Wii will not include any online games this year though.

The pokemon game is the first online game, and is a japanese launch title. we'll get it in early 2007. or you can import it, since there's no regional lockout.

This year, meaning for the 2 months that the Wii is out in 2006.

I never count on Nintendo to make any online games for their consoles, simply because they all turn out crappy. I have my computer for that.

My only big disappointment is that Mario is going to be late for the after-party. Again.

The controller price seems a bit steep, but understandable considering the technology in them. There'd be no excuse if they were high priced traditional wired contollers.

All the extra stuff Wii has beyond playing games do not interest me.

This will also be the first system with a pack-in game since the SNES days, correct?

First at launch. The N64 and GameCube had pack-in games later on.
