Muffy, what do you suppose the poor people are playing these days?

          Good gahd..

I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 would end up costing EUR 600 ($780).

Current European prices of the Xbox 360 games are €49 and €69. If JeuxVideo's reports are indeed correct, this could indicate the US retail prices of PlayStation 3 games may be around $59 to $69.
Very true. "Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins" for the PSP costs EUR 39,99..
          http://www.amazon.de/Ultimate-Ghosts...UTF8&s=gateway
That's 52 bucks compared to the US retail price of: $37.99

Another fine reason why I gave up any hopes for the EU release of the PS3.

Re: Sony Computer Entertainment Wants OmegaDragon's Paycheck

I guess we'll need to play in Armani suits with monocles and tophats, with a martini in one hand and a $30 cigar in the other.

I'm not worried about a $70 price tag for the games, since it's not like we weren't warned the price would go up, and I think it's foolish to think that the most expensive system won't have the most expensive games.

However, if I need a hi-def TV to play it, then nevermind...

I don't see why any self-respecting person would get a HDTV. But if you're gonna get that, might as well splurge on the PS3 too.

HDTVs are slowly taking over the world.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

Sony just keeps getting greedier and greedier. They need to be punished.

They're not being greedy. This is what this stuff HAS to cost because of all the money being poured into it. People just arent happy with what the price is, as they have the right to be. but sony's cut the system's cost as much as possible. they're not even going to make a profit off the PS3 for several years, and they're taking a hit of several hundred dollars per unit sold.

But its all the extra crap they throw in.

Make it ONLY able to play games, and focus on that aspect, and it probably would have been alot cheaper. But they wanted it to do everything....

Really, guys. It's not a big deal. A lot of people will greatly enjoy it, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

This is the best idea yet.

But seriously, I know they are pouring a lot of money into this, but for me, it doesn't really do much. I mean it plays games. And DVDs. And has good graphics. The end. $700. I don't think so.

                            Anyway, end of rant.

With games and accessories like memory cards and PS1/2 memory card converters it'll reach well beyond $700.
